Resident 2008

12/19/2008

My wife and I are travel nurses and spent 13 weeks here. The good: Never had a problem w/ staff or maintenance. Area/grounds nice. Close to park/hospital. Can walk to downtown "attractions." Friendly neighbors. Parking. Safe place to live. The bad: Close to hospital/life flight take offs and landings...all day/all night! (Mid-air crash happened while we were home..approx. 500 yds from our building! RIP/God bless to everyone involved.) LOUD W/D, DW, & fridge. No microwave. You will hear EVERY footstep if someone lives above you. (Happens in most apts.) Older buildings. No AC!!! Summer does get HOT at times. So the noise issue was big for us being on call, working off shifts, and needing sleep in general. Helicopters non stop! Neighbors footsteps and fighting did not help. Apt. was very dirty at move in. Fur in the washer, dried out macaroni on carpet, and nasty food left in the bottom of the dishwasher. Note: Being travelers, on short term assignments, we usually don't get the nicest apts! Our company pays for everything so I have no info on rent. So there you have it. Not great, not horrible. Also, there is not much of a college scene being so far away from campus (that was good for us!) Considering other apts. in town, I would recommend Canyon Springs if noise is not an issue. Hope this helps...
