Resident 2009 - 2010

5/31/2010

UPDATE: As I was leaving the parking lot to got to the store, there was a little boy who had pulled the front part of his underpants down and took a pee right off the front steps of his building. These are the high quality residents that this complex attracts. Ignore Jan Brewer's new law. Living here is like living in Tijuana! Aye Carumba! I respect culture as much as the next person, but in the U.S. we don't have people honking bike horns and selling cheap stuff out of a shopping cart. The horn honker comes around every evening, come rain or come shine, between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. honking his horn. This is great, especially if you work an early shift. Of course you can't call anyone to get rid of this nuisance because they do it after office hours. How smart...oops I mean, how sneaky and cagey of them. I wonder if these jerks have a license...hmmmm. Oh, the latest newsletter let us know the manager was quitting as of the end of May. Again...wonder why. But then again, this chick thought that a 3 leaf clover was lucky! LMAO! Apartments: Thin walls, floors and ceilings. Kitchens don't have enough space. Good closets though. You can hear everything from whichever wall you share with another resident. Very dated decor. Instead of replacing Formica that has come loose, they use bathtub caulk to hold it in place. There are roaches and other bugs whether or not you are dirty. The acrylic tub surrounds are so old that you can feel the scrub marks. You can see where they've tried to use a coating to change the color to white. Heat & A/C: Well they don't have A/C, they use a chiller system which means each resident is connected to each other by the same duct work. There was a huge mistake made last August when they tried to replace the chiller system. The electricians blew out a transformer and they got 2nd and 3rd degree burns. The neighborhood was out of power and there was no electricity or air conditioning all night long. This situation was covered by the news. Wow, we're famous! Residents: Low-class, non-English speaking, disrespectful, neglectful parenting and rude adults and parents. They don't pick up after their pets, drop trash on the grounds and in the parking lot. Grounds: Bad. Not always because of the maintenance, but due to the awful residents. Residents leave vacuum cleaners, furniture, trash, boxes, and basically use the shared patios as a storage area. Management doesn't care. Management: Management doesn't care. ---- James and Assoc. out of California is the management company. This is one of their Arizona properties AND they do not list on their website. I wonder why. NOT! There is a rule that you cannot smoke in your apartment, but it can't be enforced and due to the disrespectful nature of the residents...it might as well not exist. I smell cigarettes all the time in my bathroom and bedroom, even if no one is outside smoking. When the power went out while the first attempt at replacing the chiller happened they supposedly did their job by contacting the Red Cross and residents were sent to a local school to sleep on cots. Some of us hadn't heard an update and went to a hotel or friends at around 7:00 p.m. Did management reimburse us for this expense? Of course not. Their excuse was that they provided help using the Red Cross. Mind you, they are making a second attempt at installing the new chiller system. Well the electricity was out 3 1/2 hours longer than the 12 hours planned. There were other serious issues! This place is an electrical, gas and water nightmare. Water pressure is inconsistent, at best. Noise: Not only are you forced to hear others music but you get to hear their children skateboarding, screaming, whistling, yelling and basically causing mayhem until at least 9:30 on a weeknight and after 11:00 p.m. on the weekends. If you ask management to intervene, sometimes they tell the resident who is complaining about them. That is really helpful. Now, someone told me today that they are planning a playground to take the place of an unused pool. Right in front of the building with the most noise and the most obnoxious children. More than twice in the last year the kids playing have knocked out the windows to the laundry room playing soccer. One incident, the window wasn't replaced for days and some of the little street urchin children were actually playing with the shards of glass on the ground and sticking out of the window frame. Someone obviously called management because finally some Mexican dude came over and started hammering out the broken glass. Security Patrol: Well, I guess at least 1 security guard was beaten up by some of the kids here. When I call I find out that management only has them come by during certain hours. The security company says that I'm not the only one complaining and they have started to call the cops. Parties: Many times management leases out the space under the rental office and out comes the Mexican mariachi/polka music...VERY LOUD. They can't even hear you when you ask them to please turn it down. Why wouldn't Management set down rules when renting out this space? Oh yeah...BAD MANAGEMENT. Maintenance: Oh god, don't even ask. They don't know what they're doing...I've heard horror stories and experienced their lovely work. I HOPE ANYONE LOOKING FOR A LOW COST APARTMENT DOESN'T GET HOODWINKED. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. THIS PLACE IS HELL.
