Resident 2006

7/24/2006

There are hundreds of apartments in this city, but it is hard to find a really good one, one that you are really happy with, and one you are glad to call "home". The truth is, the Barrington Regent is different. What you least expect to find is mostly likely what you will.
How often do you find management who are sincerely vested in the property they are overseeing? Here at BR, the management is as much a part of the community as are the residents. Sure, they show and rent apartments, collect rent, handle repairs, and manage the day to day operations of the leasing office. Yet they still find time to meet and greet residents as they come and go. And if you go to the office with a problem, they stop whatever they are doing to assist the resident. You soon discover that their philosophy is that the residents come first in all they do. Even if you just stop by to say "hello", they take the time to recognize you, and they want to be sure everything is going well for you. Not only that, these guys spend alot of their free time out of the office planning and participating in activities designed for the residents. There's always something in the planning statges here at BR, and it's never boring.
The residents are A-1. There is such a diversity of folks that live here, all ages and lifestyles. The residents, too, are vested in living here. You never see folks throw trash on the grounds, or walk their dogs without something to pick up the mess. No unscrupulous individuals here, thanks to the BR's through screening process. The residents here respect each other, and you seldom, if ever, have alot of noise coming from a neighbor. Yet you still get a real sense of "community" here.
Maintenance is tops! They keep on top of any problems, no matter how minor, and it's fixed right away.
The apartments themselves are well-constructed, big and roomy, and up to date. The are some of the largest apartments I have yet seen. Noise is a non-issue, and the amount of storage space is nothing short of amazing. These units have more of a "home" type feel instead of an apartment. And the surrounding well-maintained grounds make the place even more lovely.
The amenities are great, too! There's a library in the resident center, a fitness center, a movie theatre (and they show a new release every month), pool and health spa, and maid service, if you have that need (and it is below market cost of the major cleaning companies. The proximity to shopping, entertainment, and the new light rail are all here.
On a personal note, I recently moved from a smaller apartment here to one of the larger ones. All the staff worked to answer all my questions, and to meet whatever needs I had, that they could accomplish. They worked with me every step of the way, and always had time to assist in answering my many, perhaps sometimes, mundane, questions, making this one of the best, and easiest moves I have ever made. The entire BR team was great, and the spirit of "teamwork" is clearly evident here.
I am very glad that I found the Barrington Regent, a well-kept secret of great apartment living on a personal level in a very big and impersonal city. I am very happy to say that I live here. I hope to make BR MY home for a long time to come!
