Resident 2011

12/16/2011

This complex is quaint, clean, and safe. Don't be discouraged about other reviewer's opinions, because a tenants perception is greatly dependant upon their location and actual residence. I was lucky to have quiet surrounding neighbors, however, I can understand how other's would complain of noise. One of the most enjoyable moments of my day is the ride home from work (along Sabino Canyon road). The view of the Catalina mountains is break-taking, and you get to enjoy this view from most apartments. There is nothing better then relaxing on your balcony, a 12-year whiskey in your hand, with a breath-taking view. I feel comfortable in saying NO other apartment complex can compete with this scenary. Also, attention all you avid hikers! Sabino Canyon is walking distance from the complex, with numerous trails and tours. Now the bad: Kids. I have kids, but make sure when they are out, they respect surrounding environment. Certain parents let their children run around on scooters or throw harder balls (e.g., footballs) right next to fellow neighbors' cars. During the summer months, it feels like a McDonald's in Ethiopia is giving away free Happy-Meals. Very annoying. I see balls hit cars, which can leave dents, and the owners are none the wiser of the assailant. Parking is tough, but can't complain. Everyone, I believe, gets one covered spot. The spots are tight, so hopefully you get people adjacent to you who are caution when entering/exiting their vehicles. I do agree that some tenants have loud cars. The one car which is an exceptional nuisance is this blue Dodge Neon, with black tail-lights and a loud muffler. Here, we have your 20-some-year old male who is perpetually stuck in the 16-year old mentality. For some odd reason, he HAS to drive quickly to the speed hump (so everyone can hear the "power" of that 4 cylinder engine with a pointless blow-off valve), slow down to not scrape his under carriage, and then speed up again to hear his turbo valve until he stops to turn onto Sabino Canyon road. Asides from him (or her), no other complaints. I recall seeing a police officer several weeks ago address some younger crowd for being noisy late at night (late being after 11pm). No problems since. Office staff is office staff. It's their job to sit there and do little throughout the day. Any job becomes monotonous, so if they seem grouchy, it's just their job. Hard to please everyone. I never had any uncomfortable or negative interactions with the staff, and in fact, like the maintainance crew. Why one reviewer complained about a leaf blower is beyond me. Lady, we live in 2011. Get with the times. Most people try to EASE their work load, rather than make it more cumbersome. A leaf blower is annoying, but think about this from the worker's perspective. She should degrade herself and use a broom cause you find it as inconvenient. And if there are leaves, then you will complain the staff does nothing. People are way too hard to please. The pool is exceptionally small. Nothing great. But since kids use the pool, I'd rather not, given they likely urinate in it as well. Overall, couldn't be happier. Awesome place, great price, and nice people (staff and tenants).
