I don't know what everyone is talking about. It sounds like some of the people posting here are just trying to get out of their lease without penalty. If they are so unhappy, they should really look at their lease, which allows them to buy-out of the it without having to pay the rent for all remaining months left on the lease. However, if you want a review from the perspective of someone who isn't trying to break their lease, here are my thoughts... I absolutely love living here. I've never had a problem with the management. As a matter of fact, they all know me by name and wave when they see me out and about. I feel like they genuinely care about my happiness here. Anytime I've had service requests, they are done within one day (but usually done the same day). When I moved in, I did have a problem with my dryer, but the management let me take my clothes to the model unit to dry my clothes there. My dryer was fixed the next day. The management then called to verify that it was fixed, and asked if there was anything else I needed. I mentioned that my patio sliding door was sticking, but it wasn't a big deal and there was no hurry to fix it. I was at Disney for the day, and they asked for permission to enter the apartment. I came home a few hours later to the door already fixed, and a maintenance note left on my counter explaining how they fixed it. On the topic of maintenance, you can either call with requests or submit requests online at mymaa.com. While you're there, you can also make your rent payment or see what's going on in the community. The grounds are mostly clean (although, they do need a trash can by the basketball court) and well maintained. It seems like people hate picking up their dog's poop by the lake, but that is no fault of the management... they even provide bags and garbage cans specifically for this purpose. A note about pets... there is a $350 pet deposit, which seemed high to me. However, you aren't charged monthly "pet rent" like some apartments charge. The trash valet is mandatory, which I admittedly wasn't thrilled about at first... but now that I'm living here, I happily pay the $25/mo to only put my trash bags in the container outside my apartment door. In case you have more trash than will fit, there is a dumpster on property. Also, right next to the dumpster is a "car care center," which consists of a vacuum, air pump, and water/soap to wash your car. Parking is never an issue. You don't have assigned spots unless you get covered parking or a garage, but there are more than enough spots for the residents and their guests. The complex is quiet... I never hear my neighbors, and rarely hear loud stereos of people driving by. My family and I go for walks around the complex (which is exactly 0.5mi around the loop, by the way), and have never felt unsafe. As a matter of fact, all of the neighbors we've met are extremely friendly. The pool/pool area is always clean, and if you have a child, you get one voucher for free swimming lessons provided by Sharks & Minnows. The playground is pretty minimal, but sufficient for my 3-year old. Although, it would be nice if it were covered, as the plastic on it gets really hot. But my dad, who is incredibly hard to please, came to visit and said it was a great apartment. Overall, I love living here, and would renew my lease in a heartbeat. The apartment is not expensive, extremely safe, and well-maintained.
