I lived at Sterling Crest Apartments for 11 months. After a long and boring search in Orlando I finally found something that looked decent and was decent in price. It has been my first apartment in the US.
The good:
- The staff is very friendly, never had any issues regarding their work!
- It is very safe, there's a guard at the gate entrance and he is walking through the community at least 5 times a night with a lantern to check things out. He's also a nice guy.
- There's basically no noise, but I lived in the back of the community so I can't tell anything about the front.
- The grounds are well kept, nothing special but always clean and green.
- The pool and tennis courts were nice and very well kept.
- We have received 95% of our deposit back which was awesome. The other 5%... we forgot to pay last month's water :D
- Our 2 bedroom was huge and everything was working pretty good inside it.
- The neighbors were ok, we didn't interact too much but always polite.
- There are a lot of parking space.
- It is by faaaaaaaaar the best community in the area. I've checked 4 more on Kirkman and surroundings and this is clearly the one you want to live in.
- Maintenance guys responded quickly, basically the next day lol. And they are really nice guys
- Once a month pest control, free of charge.
The bad-ish:
- Well the apartments are pretty old, but they are well kept.
- Had some bug problems when I moved in, but only had them for a month or so, I told the staff and they've sent the pest control 4 times that month, it fixed it.
- The dish washer is very old, I doubt anyone would use it. Just doesn't look healthy.
Tips for management:
- Change the dish washers.
- Fix the holes under the breakfast bar and kitchen table.
- Don't enter people's houses without them being there. Send a notice before entering. It's not because of safety because I trusted the staff, it's just privacy :)
Overall it was awesome living there and I would recommend it to a friend for sure. If we ever move back to Orlando, we will go back to Sterling Crest for sure (unless we hit the jackpot).

Alex Dumitrache
