Creaky, Noisey, Buggy, etc.
When we moved here, we found it to be, initially, quite charming. However, we soon found that we had unexpected house guests - bugs. Water bugs, to be specific, and even a couple silverfish in the tubs. We are not dirty people, cleaning often, but despite that and even after four pest control visits, there was no difference, and we found the best tool of our defense was bleach. But even after not seeing the buggers for a good two weeks, my roommate found a bug in her BED. The apartment layout is nice, but the floor is so uneven you actually are going uphill when moving from room to room. The cupboards were filthy and seem to be permanently bowing above our (SINGLE) kitchen sink. The neighbors listen to loud music and TV and, despite complaining numerous times to the management office over a period of three months, still no action has been taken (and in most complexes, there is a 3 strikes your out rule...as indicated in the "management response," not so here). The water heater is a joke - within minutes of stepping into the shower, you are set for taking a very cold one, with no respite whatsoever. The electric bill is huge in the summer because of our leaky windows - which also makes for a very cold apartment in the winter. I will say the maintenance crew is amazing, however you have to depend on the lacking management team to get them the message. Not to say *everyone* on the management team is horrible, only some. Also, gated community? These gates are ancient and most people sit to wait for someone to let them in, and, with no security on call, it all feels rather futile. And, one night after coming home from the late shift, about four guys were peering into cars with flashlights. I like living near MetroWest, and this is a decent part of town - about 5 seconds from Universal Studios. But the cons FAR outweigh the Pros. DON'T MOVE HERE. I wouldn't recommend this apartment to my worst enemy.Share This Review
