Resident 2004

10/10/2004

I'm a resident of Reflections and my car has been stolen/towed twice. First it was towed for a missing decal that the office neglected to inform me about when I moved in. My car was towed three days after I signed the lease and during my move in. I had to search through my information packet for it and ask my roomate about the policy. The lease states "place the decal on the rear window" when the towing company demands it be placed on the "front window" or they will tow your car. Even if you read the lease and manage to find the decal, you will be towed because of Reflections false information in their lease. My car was towed a second time because my license tag was out of date. If the company bothered to operate like a professional, they would have called and found my car was registered in date, I was just waiting on a tag in the mail. When I visited the towing company, I was harrassed by the employees. They used profane language towards my mother and I. The name of the towing company is Paul Howard and they own the gas station on Livingston and Bearss. Boycott It! They provided false information about there operating procedures and refused to disclose contract-policies as required by law. They have broken several laws referenced in statute 715.07! The law requires the towing company to unhook your car from their truck if you arrive on scene, for 50% of the fee. I have seen several drivers bully car owners into taking their car without that option. Reflections is just as guilty of running this towing scam. Their lease information is wrong. They throw flyers on your door step with all the other solicitations expecting you to know about parking policy changes. There are no towing signs posted by the curbs to let you know you need authorization. Their signs are all up front by the gate (500 feet away) which you cannot see at night time. This targets visitors and just earns more money in this towing scam. The office staff is extremely rude. The garbage at the dumpster continually piles up attracting flies and other rodents. Do not move into this complex. You will end up paying more money you could just use to live at a nice apartment community. Reflections residents are organizing and considering litigation, protesting, boycotting and refunds.
