Resident 2011 - 2012

8/28/2012

This experience has been a nightmare. First, we were not shown the actual unit we were renting until after our lease was signed, but this is a life lesson and something to learn in the future. So, to that end, our apartment was -nothing- like the demo unit. There was paint all over the floor, the cabinets were crooked, the floor was shoddy, the towel racks were crooked, and the dishwasher was broken. All of these things were mentioned in our "new home write-up" and submitted to the office, but nothing was done about them. We mentioned it again, and we were completely ignored. We had our dishwasher replaced 3 times back to back because it was broken initially, and then the second time it wasn't installed properly and didn't work, so eventually they just gave us a new one .... while taking a huge chip out of our counter too which we better not be charged for when we move out. Do not rent from this place if you dislike spiders because they are there. In abundance. And I don't mean just outside. Also found a few roaches. The office management is very lackluster. If they are in the leasing office, and you need to collect a package, if it is after the time they close, and you unfortunately work until that time, they will actually come forward, look at you through the door, shake their head and say "We're closed" instead of providing good community service for their tenants and just letting us pick up a package we had been waiting for. Not only that, but they can be downright snarky and rude if you have a disagreement about anything at all. The good news is that they are usually quick to respond, though. (I mean, if you can call that good news. I suppose it is something even if they respond with quick "Whatever"s (paraphrasing). The neighborhood is loud, and while some parts of it are pretty nice, like the greenery and hills around it, you cannot go outside and enjoy any of it because there are a lot of screaming kids. (The Preakness side of the community seems nicer and more quiet.) Oh, I should mention: When I moved in, there was a dropbox for rent so you could drop off rent if you worked or were unavailable during their office hours. A few months after that, however, it was removed to prevent against theft as some of the community members were stealing from the dropbox. So, if that's any kind of indication... Overall, I would advise to continue to look around. You can find places with better craftsmanship, customer/community service and maintenance for about the same price.

Dear Anonymous, I am so sorry to hear about the incidents that occurred when you first moved into the community in 2011. Our company, Venterra Realty, purchased this property on June 27, 2012 and we have only been here for 60 days but we would like to try to make your living experience better if you will give us the opportunity. The leasing office is open at 9 AM Monday through Friday and we close on Tuesday and Thursday at 7 PM. In addition to our later hours we are also open on Saturday and Sunday to provide the residents ample time to pick up any packages. Please let me know if you are still having problems with your dishwasher. We also provide weekly pest control services to all residents on Thursdays and you would only need to contact us to be added to the list. I would really like to meet with you to discuss any other concerns you may have with your apartment home. Thank you, The Property Manager Champions Green Apartments.
