Not Woth the Time

I have never written anything like this and am actually surprised that I am now, but I am so fed up with the new management that I felt the need to get the word out. I live at the front of the complex by the pool and while I agree that the space in this apartment is wonderful, the workmanship is shoddy. After switching from their initial contractors to "save costs" the upgrades were changed. My apartment is an example of one that was changed mid-stride. All the extra moulding was taken down, and extra texture was added to cover up where the moulding used to be. In my apartment it hangs down in huge icicles. The painters also touched up the walls where the moulding was, but they just rolled the cream colored paint onto the ceiling as well. They have recently fixed the foundations, which is great, but the damage to the inside of my apartment (separations of 1 inch or more -- pre-fix -- between the ceiling and the wall, still ugly gaps ost fix) does not make me feel like I should be paying this much money. I also get a new leak and discoloration on my ceiling every time it rains. The biggest problem I have with the new management is their ability to make timely notifications of issues. The notice that they would be pulling the windows out of my apartment (which meant I would have to remove all furniture from around them) so late the NIGHT BEFORE (after 6pm) that I found out when they knocked on my door as I was on my way to work (where the notice was still in my door crack). Needless to say I missed several hours of work moving furniture. When I pointed out to the maintenance guy that I was leaving he shrugged his shoulders and told me it wasn't his problem. Nice! Some of the neighborhood is still sketchy. The pool is generally filled with people who don't live here and who like to put all the chairs into the pool to make a jungle gym. When my boyfriend and I told the old management company that we noticed some of the few kids in the building stealing the clubhouse golf carts for joy rides at night, the back windshield of his car was mysertiously busted out the next night. While my history with this complex has not always been favorable, the old management was extraordinary and went out of their way to correct problems. Case in point, during the rennovation of the apt above me, the contractors broke a water pipe. It flooded the entire floor and the roof of my kitchen. I came home to find that the contractors had entered my apartment adn ripped the entire ceiling of my kitchen out. My notification was a piece of paper taped to the door sill into the kitchen. Once it became apparent that the renovations they would make were going to be slapshot (like using a one-by-two on the inside of my new cabinets to screw them into the wall because they were damaged) we requetsed to move into a new apt. The old management was amazing, gave us damages for inconvenience, paid my relocation fees on my utilities, and even had helpers move our furniture. I cannot even imagine getting any kind of quality service out of the new management company. I have been disappointed with them ever since they lost my rent check and then gave me a notice of eviction (which expired over the weekend -- on sunday as a matter of fact) and then no one was available to take a call on a legal action over the weekend. This place is just a mess. As a professional in the IT industry, believe me, you'll be disappointed.
