I was a homebuyer for 12 years. Homebuyer not homeowner, meaning I was still paying for something that was not mine. When the market plummeted, I decided that I would no longer pay a $1,600 monthly mortgage on a $176K loan for a loft (in a supposedly transitioning area) that was only worth $50K.
I set out to find the least expensive apartment in the most expensive area (BUCKHEAD; smart choice). As a result, I stumbled upon THE DARLINGTON APARTMENTS. On the outside, it reminds me of the TV show, Good Times (an all brick high-rise). Inside, the downstairs area is appealing (equipped with a state-of-the-art exercise room, computer center, entertainment room, laundry facility, convenient shops, and a few restaurants). Once you exit the elevator, the hallways can be a bit intimidating (dull paint, low lighting, old carpet, strange smells emanating from rooms), but inside of YOUR APARTMENT is what YOU make it.
This is a place of transitioning for students, singles, those who are changing their careers/their mindset, and smart savers. Stop complaining and save your money to BUY what you want. Make the most of all that THE DARLINGTON APARTMENTS has to offer: great location, great amenities, security, ample parking, and a mix of ethnic groups, and did I say great location (MARTA, hospital, clubs, and restaurants).
