Resident 2004 - 2005

1/22/2006

My infant son and I had lived in one of the units located at Alexander Mill, 158 Paper Mill Rd. in Lawrenceville, GA.
It's sad to say that this is a place I definately would not recommend to anyone who is out there looking for there next apartment.
From the outside, it may look like a nice community to live, depending on the time of day you choose to visit. After dark, this place becomes a much different place then it is during business hours.
I was promised from the first day I moved in that everything needed to be fixed in the unit would be fixed within 30 days, that is exactly what I was told by Darryn.
I should have listened to my friends who once lived here before the problems all really began to take shape, though I figured that the building I was placed in would not have many problems as the buildings up front do. This place is clearly the ------, though it may not appear to look that way on the outside, then again, that all depends on the time of day you choose to drive through the community.
My son's bedroom flooded from the neighbors hot water heater breaking and both mold and mildew formed in his room, making it very unhealthy for not only my son, but for me as well. Management clearly did not fix the problem the correct way, like any normal person would have.
There were always people driving around all hours of the night, playing loud music, creating problems for anyone to get a peaceful nights rest. The neighboring children that lived in other units in the building were very disprespectful and always were causing problems and setting fires in the breezeways. Numerous people including myself contacted management, though management could careless to resolve the situation.
Half the time the lights in the parking lot would not work, people who I did not know were always knocking on my door all hours of the night. We were suppose to have a courtesy officer on the grounds to take care of any problems that may arrise if any of the residents were to call, but this never seemed to resolve the on-going problems once the office closed after business hours.
The parking lot was a playground, much less could you ever drive through the parking lot without risking hitting a child who out of no where would dart right out in front of your vehicle or would be rolling down the hill on a skateboard. No partental supervision, children out of control and always causing trouble around the community. Many of my neighbors that I once socialized with moved out before I moved out. You clearly don't want to socialize with anyone who lives here.
I always felt unsafe leaving my apartment, not knowing who to expect out in the parking lot. A neighboring guy was attacked by 2 guys, for his money, which is really sad.
The neighbors who had dogs, never bothered to clean up after there dogs.
This is clearly not a place for anyone looking for a decent place to live, then this community is not the place for you. My best advice is to just keep looking, there are far more other places out there that offer a much better living community then any of Signature Management properties will. Good Luck.
