Resident 2009 - 2011

9/8/2011

As many others have mentioned below, we are disheartened by the building's sudden and unfounded desire to suck as much money out of us as possible. It is a nice building to live in and until this point, I was pretty happy with communication between the management office and the tenants (I have nothing but good things to say about the shuttle drivers and doormen). However, they have now gone too far and things that I was willing to overlook simply cannot be overlooked when they want to raise rents without raising their responsiveness as well. The building is old. Maintenance does respond to requests in a timely fashion, but they do not actually fix the problem (likely because that would require a replacement of some sort). I'm sure replacements are expensive, but so is the rent in this building. And on top it, instead of replacing broken items in actual apartments, they made us all suffer through major construction to the front of the building. Jackhammering and all sorts of noise throughout the summer and what do we get in return? A rent increase that is more than double what the county recommends even though they promised that the construction would not bring a rent increase. Think again. And all of you should think twice before moving here. Maybe in good economic times this increase would be a fair move, but times are tough for all. If only I had some renters that I could use to raise more money for me . . .
