Resident 2009 - 2011

2/8/2011

Lived here for 2 years

I am sad to leave. There are many more good things about this place than bad. First the bad, one thing: mold. Now the mold is manageable if you use a dehumidifier and have the fans on, and clean the windows every couple of weeks. I have no other complaints everything else is fantastic about this place. The size of the apartments are great, location is right next to metro, rite-aid, starbucks, Giant, shopping center. Where I was there was plenty of parking. Work man do a great job of cleaning up around the grounds (even in snowstorms!). Laundry facilities are great as well. You do have to go outside to do laundry but whatever a chore is a chore. I have lived in roach infested places and this place is CLEAN! No mice, no bugs, and if you see anything they will bring an exterminator. I had no problems. It has been a nightmare looking for another place to live but we now have a baby and need more room and no mold (too much to handle with a newborn). The office staff are ok, meaning there are a couple who are so nice and a couple who could care less about anything. When you have packages they have a spot at the office where you can come by and pick them up when open. Electic bill was about $100 a month (as low as $60 and as high as $199) water is about $40 a month. But I like to keep things cold and hot and there are two people in the apartment so water is based on that. They will tow your car if you don't have a sticker, (you get one sticker and one visitors pass-that can be used if you have a second car). You can pay for an assigned parking spot if you want. I also do not hear any of my neighbors, except when they are in the hallway leaving or entering the building. It's just a couple of seconds and then it passes. They have a security car or cop car come through during the weekends and the walkways are very well lit. The prices are going way up because of the location. I am pretty sure the same size apartment I am in is going for $300 more in the same complex across the street. If you don't have a car and need metro this is great. Also the inside of the apartments have some molding which makes it a little more cozy feeling. I am sad to go but they are tearing down the area which we live to make a high rise apartment building. The other areas are staying put and they give the option to move over there, but since we have to move we will move to something closer to our jobs.
