The apartments are well designed and the landscaping is really pretty. But the gates are meaningless, people just wait in the driveway and then follow residents in. My wife's cell phone was stolen from our car in the parking lot. At night in the summer time, be sure to go to the pool area to be amazed at the swarms of cockroaches skittering around. I guess that in Las Vegas, any place that has lush landscaping has a lot of roaches in the summer. The people in the management office were usually polite and friendly, but whenever I or my wife had a request, like when I wanted to install an alarm on our front door, whoever I talked to would just tell me that they would speak to the headmanager and then call me back....then no-one would ever call. But don't get me wrong, we overall enjoyed renting from Durango Canyon and if we hadn't relocated out of state, we would probably still be living there. The surrounding neighborhood is very nice, mostly expensive homes, and as long as you have a car, you can get anywhere in town within a half hour or less. The rent is a little higher there than I think most other apartment complexes in the area charge, but Durango Canyon has really nice facillties, including raquetball courts, and washers and dryers in each unit.
