Beautiful Bandaid hiding the real damage
I moved to Birmingham from South Georgia to start Graduate School. I was looking for a decent peaceful place. When I was shown an apartment there wasn't anyone in the apartment above it. The paint, flooring and appliances have all been upgraded and look beautiful. Like they say, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." When I first moved in the electrical box was throwing sparks. The staff told me that their maintenance guys said nothing was wrong with it!!! After writing a letter to the property manager it did get fixed by a professional and I haven't had anymore problems with it since. Eventually, people moved into the apartment above me and there was no more quiet apartment. You can hear everything in the apartment above you and kids like to run. But, it's not only that you can hear the walls crack and can see where the paint is cracking between the ceiling and the walls due to the stress. Main water lines seem to break fairly often so you never know if your going to get that shower before you go to work or after you workout. When the apartment above had a problem with their hot water heat it leaked through my ceiling and the maintenance guys plan is to paint over it!! Yes, there is an enzyme you can use to kill mold but the wood between floors is now wet so I guess they don't think mold between the floors is an issue. My electric bill shot way high and I couldn't figure out why?? It seems after a closer look that my vents were blocked with insulation and had negative air pressure. So far the only thing that has been done is the insulation right at the vent has been removed. I haven't had heat in my bedroom or bathroom for over a month. These apartments look nice but that's about all I can say positive about this complex.Share This Review
