Resident 2013 - 2014

4/20/2014

There are many things I dislike about the complex. The first are the pets. I just came up to my apartment and rode in an elevator with dog pee in it. Not the first time that's happened, and won't be the last I'm sure. There is frequently pee in the elevator and hallways so it always smells bad. Dog poop is everywhere outside causing a lot of bugs to be around the doors and no one cleans up after their pets. When the pets are inside and left alone they naturally tend to bark. If you speak to the staff about it they will tell you "I'll call the tenant and let them know." and that's the extent of the help. If the owner has gone out that night and the office is closed, there is nothing you can do but wait until the owner comes home (whatever time that may be). Second is the parking. During the first two months of my lease the complex made the 4 nearest parking spots to every door PAID. If you don't pay monthly then you cannot park there and if you do park there you will be towed TOWED. That has left to a parking shortage which left me walking from 2 buildings over before my dog pee elevator ride tonight. I frequently park far away because I am not willing to pay for something that I should not have to. The third thing that bothers me is the lack of notice I receive about people entering my apartment or having to move cars. I was told that a parking lot was being worked on and that it had to be empty by 8am Thursday morning Wednesday at 6pm after I already parked there. Surely they knew about that inconvenience more than 12 hours before. I was also told that a work crew was going to be entering the apartment and that I needed to have everything out of the cabinets in the kitchen on a Wednesday. They told me that on Tuesday, and the notice was dated the day before on Monday. I ended up getting less than 12 hours notice. On top of that I couldn't use my sink or the countertops for 2 days so all of my things were in random spots in the apartment and was unable to cook. There are also some small things like the elevators making unnerving sounds and a lack of light around some entrances at night. If there is snow, don't expect the complex to shovel snow off the sidewalks or bring a plow through. I was stuck there for 5 days. The only thing I enjoyed about this complex was the unit itself. High ceilings on the 4th floor, but they use that to charge more. I was told there was firewalls in between every apartment but that's clearly not the case; I'm listening to my neighbors dogs right now. I would not recommend this complex to anyone.
