Resident 2010

I'm going to address the negative reviews first, then I'll tell you about my general opinions. Many of the negative reviews have a few basic themes: Firstly, I think there are some people who have an unrealistic view of what "new construction" entails. It is NOT done yet, which means construction continues. Unfortunately, weather dictates when certain construction tasks can be complete, and anyone familiar with construction understands that there are always setbacks. To blame these on management is naive and childish. The fitness center is now open 24 hours, and they are making great progress on the pool. Also, the parking was very tight at the beginning, and a few people were issued tickets for parking in handicapped spaces. I was one of them. Some of these people blamed management, even though the manager was out there begging the police officer to let her call the tenets so they could move their cars. Somehow these people feel like it's someone else's fault they broke the law. Parking is a nonissue now, as there are plenty of spots. As far as animal waste on the grass, management has addressed this frequently, but this is the responsibility of the individual pet owners. The complex has pet waste stations with complimentary bags. I'm not sure what else they could do to encourage people to pick up after their pets. Any apartment that allows dogs will have this issue. Now, let me tell you about my home. The granite tile and counters, the marble fireplace, the wooden blinds...this place is just gorgeous. The floorplans are very spacious and well-thought out. I want to bring all of my friends to show it off. When I have friends over, they are all awed at what a beautiful apartment it is. The garden tubs are wonderful after a long day at work. The fitness center is huge...in fact, it's bigger than the gym I was paying $40/month for. Despite the fact that's it's been 100 degrees lately, my energy bill has been as low as it was when I lived in a studio apartment due to the quality of the buildings. In fact, since cable and internet are included, my total cost for a two bedroom with a roommate is less than what I was paying monthly for that studio apartment. The appliances are wonderful. I think the clubhouse is beautiful. I love my neighbors. I also love the management. She has been incredibly receptive to any issues I've raised with her, even when it wasn't her responsibility. I've never been happier in an apartment, and I've lived in several. I can't wait for everything to be finished...it will be the most beautiful apartment complex in the area.
