Resident 2014

7/14/2014

I signed a 1-year lease in May 2013 and was quite surprised how nice these apartments are. Pros: Assigned parking in a below ground parking garage which keeps my car from the monsoons. Elevators to assigned floor, although the elevators tended to break during the summer due to the heat and excessive use. They seemed pretty quick to get them fixed when they are down. Washer/Dryer in unit, a big plus, standard appliances, laminate countertops. I had a two-bedroom apartment (B1) on the fourth-floor. I enjoyed being on the top floor and being on the top, you got black appliances and dark cabinetry and counters (1st through 3rd are white appliances and light cabinetry and counters). The built-in bookshelf also came in very hand. All in all, a great floor plan, perfect for me and my stuff (and I have big furniture). Cons: The apartment complex seems to be in-filled around an older area. Not exactly the best area, but I never felt unsafe going out at night, just that the general area. I had a North facing apartment, so noise was not at all a problem, but the occasional cops with their lights could be distracting at 2 am. The clientele seems to have shifted from the more professional to more young college kids, so there is a lot of general noise coming from that. Although everyone I seem to meet around the complex were very nice. The only other negative thing was I had an issue with my air conditioner going out in the middle of summer. I called the after hours number and they said they would dispatch someone out. Two hours later they still had not shown up. Finally after working with the after hours number, found out the maintenance guy never showed and decided that it was too late for him to fix my air conditioner. I complained to management the following day and they got it fix and made it right by getting me a gift card for my inconvenience as well as a sincere apology. Staff: Overall, the staff is very friendly and willing to help when a need arises. Mery was our leasing agent and whenever I had a problem, she was able to get me an answer within a reasonable time. The downside is the apartment manager position changed hands 3 times in the span of 6 months. So when there was an issue I had to explain an issue all over. But I will tell you, I had to break my lease due to unforeseen circumstances and they worked with me on breaking the lease and helped make the impact much less stressful than it could have been. I am grateful they listened to my requests and worked with me to make sure all items were resolved within a month of me moving out. Overall, this is a great place to live and if I ever move back to Phoenix, this would be a place I would look up again,
