Resident 2012 - 2013

6/21/2014

I no longer live at Little Cottonwoods but have been reflecting recently on my time spent there (I did not forget). I had a positive experience living at Little Cottonwoods and am grateful for it. I lived at Little Cottonwoods from June 2012- June 2013 (moved out approx. one year ago). I relocated to Arizona from the east coast for a year because of my work. One of the reasons why I chose this place was because of the location- it was only 10 minutes from my job. I didn't get a chance to visit before I moved in but spoke with Jorge over the phone and he answered questions I had, emailed me pictures, and helped facilitate the pre-move in processes before I arrived. The day I moved in was hassle free and I received a friendly greeting and nice tour of the complex from Kathy. The staff that were there when I was there were great including the maintenance team. I did have a few issues spread throughout the year (involving toilet, bathroom sink, refrigerator, and air conditioner) however maintenance fixed all of the issues in a competent, timely and professional manner. When something needed to be fixed they were reliable and I could count on them. I lived in a one bedroom on a second floor. I had neighbors living to my right, and below me (person to my left moved out) and when I was in the apartment noise was not a problem. I felt like the complex as a whole was relatively quiet. I personally didn't get to know my neighbors but didn't mind the independence. I had an assigned parking spot which was nice. Be careful and go slow when driving around the complex specifically around the corners of the complex when you need to turn because it can be tight especially if another car happens to be coming around in the opposite direction at the same time. I thought the grounds were nice and well maintained. I liked all of the trees however that was an issue when I wanted to install a dish satellite so my apartment could have cable TV. It is feasible for some apartments but not others depending upon your location within the complex. I survived without it- it wasn't a big deal for me. I had no problems with internet, power, or utilities. I did not have issues with insects, rodents, or bed bugs. Sometimes there are stray cats walking around the grounds. A recycling bin was on the other side of the complex and it would have been nice if there was one closer to my side but I am glad that they had a recycling bin! The location was great. Very convenient to everything! Walking distance to grocery stores, local businesses, parks etc. I felt the actual complex was safe. Walking around the complex during the day and at night I felt safe even when walking alone (disclosure- I am a guy). I really enjoyed the pool, whirlpool and exercise room. The exercise room was small but gets the job done. I don't know how things are now but when I was there I had a pleasant experience and am glad that I lived there for a year. Sorry if this review was lengthy but hopefully this review will be helpful for others.
