Resident 2006 - 2007

3/10/2007

My unit also had a VERY creaky floor, my neighbors managed to pump their music such that I could identify the song they were playing through my floor. I also had a draft problem in the living room, which I could never find until I cleaned the apt on move-out, it turns out there was a clear gap underneath the A/C unit in the wall! The carpet in the front room was heavily stained when I moved in, the tub, sink and counters were rusted, stained and cut up. The ceiling needed repainting as well. The toilet never worked properly, I had to gerry-rig the handle to stay in place. Aside from that, it could've been worse for the price.

However, the staff, though courteous, are the absolute worst. On my move-in report, several of the above-mentioned items were noted by the manager with a note and a circled "w/o", which I was told, when I addressed the issues, that work orders had been placed for each item. The supposed work orders were never carried out, even after following up with the staff when I went to pay my rent each month (thank God I got receipts for each payment, or I'm sure they'd conveniently manage to forget I paid as well). Not only that, when I asked about the supposed orders upon move-out, I was told that the symbols on my move-in report were simply notation of something missed during the readying of the apartment. Also, MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU ARE PRESENT with the manager for move-out AND take photographs (something that should've been obvious, but I was tired, and the staff had been courteous). Otherwise, the same housekeeper who supposedly cleans the rugs to ready the apt (I was able to get out the stains noted on my move-in report with a mere consumer-level Bissel steam cleaner) will manufacture charges to tack on to your move-out. I was told that the sink and tub needed touch-up, when that was noted as being needed at move-in, so I was charged. I was told that the stove/oven was dirty, when I had specifically spent an hour cleaning each part (1hr on oven after 12hr Easy-Off sitting, 1hr on stove, going over the top, cleaning the grease pans/burners, as well as cleaning underneath the grease pans).

So to summarize, if you need a cheap place to stay, and are ready to spend a lot of money and time on registered mail (since in order to get the staff moving, you are going to have to continuously rub their noses in it), I'd recommend this complex. If you've got the means to live elsewhere, do so.
