Resident ā€¢ 2011 - 2015

The name of these apartments should be $Alize (pronounced "sleaze") and ALL PET OWNERS should beware and read this post. To begin, the Alize is all about the money and they do not care two cents about your rental experience and even more importantly about your health once you sign your lease. To explain, I have been lied to from day 1 living here. First it was in the $100 bump in rent from what I was told my rent would be...to the day I signed my contract. Second, it was when my dog and I was attacked by a Rhodesian Ridgeback, who's owner was a tenant in the Alize. And lastly it has been the hazardous and unhealthy grounds caked with mud, reclaimed water/waste and dog feces and then the final denial of the presence of mold in my building. All cumulative of the worst years I have spent as a renter. So, if you are a small dog owner listen up and beware as they DO NOT enforce pet policies, from waste removal to breed restrictions, as I know of at least two pit bulls that are residents here, along with many other aggressive breeds that are listed on the Alize's restricted breed list. Having covered the aforementioned...this now brings me to the worst day of my life...when my dog and I were attacked here at the Alize. An attack which left me scarred and my dog bloody head to toe. Get ready for this as the Alize management's first comments to me were not "are you ok" or "is your dog alright" after being attacked by a dog that is bred to take down lions in South Africa; but unbelievably..."your dog must have instigated it because she is a Chihuahua and must have been off her leash." A 17-year old Chihuahua just a month from her 18th birthday attacked a 2-year old Rhodesian Ridgeback are you serious? To continue, first I was told by April, the property manager, that the Rhodesian that attacked my dog and me was an exception to the Alize's pet policy due to fact the owner of the dog had a companion certificate. According to Animal Control of Mission Viejo, who I called and filed a report with, verified this dog was listed on its vet certificate as a Rhodesian Ridgeback and that it did not have a companion certificate. Then when I confronted April with that fact, she told me the dog and owner were going to be evicted because he had listed the dog as a Labrador mix on the rental application. Well there was no mix or no lab listed on the vet report and the eviction never happened. Like I said...they just lie and then they lie about lying. In the many apartments I have lived over my 40 years, this is by far the worst managed and the unhealthiest. It took maintenance or should I say management two years to replace lights on one entire side of my apartment. Lights that were a serious safety issue for anyone walking the grounds at night. How about the mold issues? Wow, don't get me started on the mold issues, as this review is already too long. However, I will make is short to say that I personally know 10 or more tenants, current and past, that had to move out of their units because of mold. Two tenants on the same floor and building as mine, directly facing the front of my unit, both ended up in the hospital due to mold contamination. If you rent here you are guaranteed to be extremely disappointed. I have pictures from the last two-year's but I need to save them for future litigation. Sorry. To conclude, as a small dog owner I could write a novel (this is the first chapter) on the unhealthy and hazardous conditions that exist all over the Alize property, from which my dog has been exposed. I can say this emphatically as I have photographic evidence and a report filed with the City of Aliso Viejo to back it up. Yes, problem got so bad and persisted so long that my girlfriend went all the way down to the city to file a complaint just a week after having a Thyroidectomy from which she was barely able to talk. Please note, we are just a few of the many tenants that went into management offices to complain of the vast amount of dog feces strewn through the property. So my point is that those reviews were written by staff of this complex or people who never bother to look below their waists.

Dear Resident, Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Alize Apartment Homes. We understand that pet waste can be an ongoing battle at apartment communities and take this concern very seriously. While Alize does offer pet waste bag stations throughout the property for pet owners to utilize, we are also taking an additional step to implement Poo Prints DNA testing in our community. Should you have concerns in regards to your apartment home please contact me directly M-F at 949-716-5600 or via email at EPiesch@ExperienceAlize.com so I can ensure they are addressed accordingly. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards, Elizabeth Piesch Community Manager
