I lived here for 4 years and looking back on this place I loved it.
This was my experience: Year 1, no issues what so ever. I remember moving in on the first day (a Friday morning) and thinking this place is eerily quiet. No, seriously, quiet like 'do people besides me live here?' I couldn't hear my neighbors through the wall, the landscape was kept up immaculately, my apartment had no maintenance issues, parking was a piece of cake, and crime was not a concern. What more could I ask for?
Year 2: Rent went up slightly but since year 1 was so awesome I had no problem with the bump. I also had some recycling stolen from my terrace on a Sunday morning (Easter Sunday of all days) by some bum. My own fault I suppose since it was just laying out there. Otherwise, no issues.
Year 3: Still no serious maintenance issues (if a lightbulb goes out, they fix it the next day), still no noise issues, landscape still looks nice, I never have trouble parking, crime is not a factor, I don't really care about office staff since I don't have a need to interact with them, maintenance people still smile and wave. The only thing I notice is a lot more turnover among my neighbors. I'm starting to miss a lot of the old faces and I'm starting to feel like the old man on the block.
Year 4: The young new faces around me are immature. Cigarette butts are regularly discovered around my doorstep in the mornings - apparently left out the night before, particularly after a Friday or Saturday night. Sometimes empty In-N-Out bags too. Maintenance picks it up Monday morning so I'm satisfied their still doing their job. There were also about 3 weeknights in the course of the year I awake in the middle of the night because I can hear some drunk neighbor arguing with his roommate and girlfriend outside their front door. Security is called but everything has died down before they show up. The guy was a loser who looked to be some bartender and had to ride his bike to work. Eventually him and his people move out a few weeks later. The landscape is still maintained. Office staff has changed too. Cecelia had a great smile but the new gal also has a nice one on her face and 29 out of 30 days a month I still think this place is great. However, my time has come to move on. I reminisce about the old days and feel it's time for a change too.
All in all, I loved this place and now I can only hope someone else has the same great experience I did. I was proud to call Terrace View my home. Thanks, Terrace View.
