I've called the Portobello Apartments at 1791 N. Sycamore Ave @ Franklin to find out about it availability but to no avail. So I did an experiment. I called 3 times this past week and left messages in English. Not a single call was returned. I then had a friend that speaks Russian fluently call and leave a message. Lo and behold, she gets her call returned three days ago with more

I was paying 950 and like the apartment and the closet space and the balcony, but the cockroaches were terrible and there was never anything done about the problem. the manager is old, but nice, but the cockroaches will make sure I never rent there again. more

I lived at this location for years because of the central location, and back then it was reasonably priced. The rent is now a bit outrageous. The manager is of no help at all even though the manager lives on site. She would rarely return my calls, even for urgent matters (toilet overflowing etc.). Things were not maintained well at all. I would ask for things to get fixed, and nothing more

It's so sad that I must live her;but until I relocate let me tell you a little about this place. Security in the garage is only available 3 times a week and their either drunk or sleeping on the job while are cars are being stolen or broken into. this is maybe a 300 unit building and all they can afford is only one housekeeper who never works weekends; so if the dogs poop in the elevator on more

I took a quarter of classes at UCLA during the fall of 2013, and rented a 1BR apartment at Rochester Arms Apartments which is managed by Moss & Company (mosscompany.com). I lived there for only four months and they took my entire security deposit even though I left the place in great condition. The charges included a $385 paint job, $80 carpet shampoo, and $60 janitorial fee. I kept more

Cons: This place is terrible. You can hear your upstairs neighbor's every step. Under no circumstances should you take a north facing unit. On any given night, you are guaranteed to hear one of the following into the late hours: drumming, music, movies, tv, talking, fighting, singing or sex. The sound reverberates in the alley. The maintenance is non-existent. more

I moved to the US from Ukraine in 1992. My family was treated like ---- by everyone we rented from. They took advantage of our lack of English skills, and they took the cheap way out of everything. Moving to RosePoint Bellevue reminded me of those horrendous times. Not only does JK Residential not make any required repairs, and is cited monthly by the city, but they deny all wrongdoing. The manager here is a very nice guy. The units are relatively inexpensive (albeit small) for downtown. However, in my 2 years here I come to find the following unacceptable. 1. Bed bugs plague many floors (my unit included) 2. They will let ANYONE into the building off the street, even though the building is located very close to skid row. 3. Many of the tenants are section 8, crack more

Robert Zinner has been the "on-site" manager here for years and he makes living at 5361 Russell Ave incredibly uncomfortable. It seems that his primary goal is to NOT repair or replace anything and argue with you or ignore you until you just give up. Issues here have included everything from broken garbage disposal (Robert blames the tenant no matter what the issue), bugs (multiple more
