UPDATE 2/28/15: As of our Review posted on Yelp February 26, 2015, coincidentally just (1) day later Centrepointe Apartments changed their monthly rate back to $2,600 from their original $2,500 per month on all the Ads posted online. Also, A Review is now posted glorifying Centerpointe Apartments and boasting on its amenities, and get this: they also use a similar business catch phrase "Come Home to Centrepointe" in their review, WOW! what a surprise they include that. Unfortunately is far from the honest truth to our experience, and in our opinion not an actual review but rather a rebuttal to our review. OUR HONEST REVIEW OF OUR EXPERIENCE ABOUT THIS PLACE: We were looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in Los Angeles and noticed an ad for Centrepointe Apartments. They were advertising a 2 bedroom unit for $2,500 a month for 12 months. When we called we were told the 2 bedrooms are currently going for $2,600 per month. Now that's $1,200 more per year. We explained to them we wanted to see the apartment which the ad shows for $2,500 per month, and was told they don't rent out 2 bedroom units for that price per month. We asked them to take down the ad that shows the $2,500 per month since they are not honoring it. As of this review the advertisements are still up. When we seen the 2 bedroom apartments they did not look to be worth the monthly rent of $2,500 per month (advertised) nor $2,600 at that. The rooms where re-painted in all white it felt like we would be living in an insane asylum, quite nauseous. The kitchen cabinets and counter tops were old and outdated. (Don't expect granite countertops and hardwood floors here.) We then opened up a closet door and was overcome by tobacco smoke which almost made us vomit. What???...NO BATHROOM ON THE MAIN FLOOR, both bathrooms were located on the top floor, very awkward location for a 2 floor unit. The inside layout of the apartment units were also weird. We could also hear the loud volume sound of the Television from the neighbors next door. The space was compact on two level floors. Based on their photos of the fully furnished model unit (for show) and rental office, it seems like they put more money staging, then actually upgrading the apartment units. We then went to see the onsite gym. It was so small it looked like they converted a apartment unit into a ridiculous fitness center. There were about 2 lifting machines, and about 2 treadmills, nothing to be excited about. Although the gym was subpar, the rental office next door had the latest upgraded look. The grounds were up kept and the pool was so packed it looked as if it was taken over by college kids. We felt claustrophobic while being there. Finally! we had seen enough and left to another place our friends told us about down the street. Let us tell you The Victor on Venice left us in Amazement, they had so many things Centrepointe Apartments never came close to. We think we found our newly modeled home and all the amenities it comes with at The Victor on Venice and the monthly rent is well worth it. In Summary: False advertising to bait-and-switch perspective renters into coming to see a unit and when they get there, the price of the unit is not what was advertised. The apartments looked so outdated, more like from the 1980s'. $2,600 per month in West Los Angeles is not what you would expect to pay for a non-modern looking apartment. Included Pictures of the ad posted, see for yourself. If you could save $1,200 a year, instead of paying that, I'm sure you would also be disappointed taking time off work or busy schedule just to be misled.
