Resident 2016

The Regent Apartments - Palm Desert, CA 92260 Nightmare Management So my family and I are stuck in a lease we can't get out of. We had to relocate to a new home due to new job relocation. We are still paying rent at the Regent but we've relocated to Lake Elsinore for a new job relocation. So we are actually paying rent at two places. We've explained our situation repeatedly to management and they said we owe them $2,000 fee to terminate the lease and they can care less about our situation. We've been searching high and low bringing in several prospective new tenants to sublease our apartment for the remainder of the lease til end of June. As we are allowed to according to the Fair and Reasonable Act for Equal Housing Laws and in our lease contract. I've spoken to the leasing agents: Marissa, Yvette, Stephanie, and Giovanni. All of them said we are not allowed to sublease and not allowed to find people to take over the remainder of our lease. They cannot and will not show any apartments to people we send over. While I revisited the Regent today, to my greatest shock and disappointment, I met and spoke to Stephanie, your Assistant Manager. She was not professional in her verbal usage and she spoke and treated me extremely condescendingly, rudely, disrespectfully and extremely unprofessional manner that I've ever heard from a professional management company. I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! She yelled and screamed at me: "NO THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!" when I asked if she could call Judy, the manager, so we can straighten things out. I asked her to put in writing that she said: their policy DOES NOT allow me to sublease and then she again yelled and screamed at me: "NO THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!" Then she ordered me to leave the premises IMMEDIATELY. I said I am not leaving, and she ordered the other leasing agent, Marissa, to call the police and sheriff department to remove me from the premises!!! I did not leave and she continued verbally harassing me in front of my 2 yo daughter, current tenants and leasing agents. I am still paying rent, so technically, I am still a tenant. Regardless, if I was a tenant or any human being or customer walking into see the office, The Regent Apartments need to have better respect for their clients and tenants. Without the clients or tenants, there would be no business at all and you'd be out of a job. I would expect a professional management company to hire someone who is more professional and customer care oriented than this awful human being and "assistant property manager", Stephanie.
