Resident ā€¢ 2003 - 2004

6/25/2004

I'm not even sure where to start with my comments. On first glance this place looks great - the landscaping is immaculate and there seems to be a lot to offer. However, once they get you signed and you're bleeding out of your nose they could care less about you.

First of all, the noise is ridiculous. My roommate and I have an apartment right next to the one pool, which is supposed to serve 900 residents. Unless you go out there and grab a chair at 9:00 in the morning, there is no chance of getting a lounge chair. This is because the same huge group of noisy, disrespectful college kids go out there and party all day and night. They drink beer, play obnoxiously loud music and scream at the top of their lungs until all hours of the night.

In addition, at 6:00 every morning, the grounds people are out at the pool dragging the lounge chairs around the pool to get them organized for the day. The loud scraping noise that results never fails to wake me up, whether it's a Monday or a Sunday.

Furthermore, the business center is a joke. They have four computers for 900 residents...not good odds. In order to get on a computer, you have to wait in line while the college kids play online poker. Then, when you finally get online, half of the computers have a virus and shut off every five minutes. If, by chance, you get a computer that works, 95% of the time the computers won't print (plus you have to provide your own paper). And, when one does actually print, the ink cartridge is low and you only get the right and left margins printed, with the middle of your document totally blank.

As for the keycards, why even bother. The only thing it accomplishes is making the actual residents dig around for their card in order to get in somewhere. If someone wants to get into the "secure" parking, the pull to the side and wait for someone to come in or out.

And I'm not sure what the "clubroom" is for - 90% of the time my keycard doesn't work in there if it's after 7:00. What is the point of having a "clubroom" if no one can ever get in?!

As for the insulation between floors...it is nonexistent. It sounds like the guy that lives above us places concrete blocks on his feet and stomps around. For a while I would wake up at 3:00 every morning when his alarm clock went off.

There is paint dribbled all over the counters and carpets and stains as well. The bathtub has started to flake and the toilet seat is tilted. I'm sure when we move out all of that will come out of our security deposit. In addition, there is absolutely no cabinet space in the bathroom and the lighting is horrible.

Basically, once this place gets you signed to a lease they couldn't care less how your stay is. The spend more time and money on keeping the outside looking good than they do on paying attention to the needs and comfort of the people actually paying their horrendous rates. Don't even consider staying here.
