I've lived here for about 10 years now. The location is great. Two blocks from Polk Street (the nice part) and just a few blocks from Union Street. A block from Van Ness, so it's great if you need public transportation. The building has undergone a number of renovations in the last several years, inside and out. The outside was repainted and all windows were replaced. The inside was also repainted and new carpeting was put in. It looks very nice. Also, the spa area was completely gutted down to the studs and replaced so it is actually usable now and very modern. The gym was also redone and all new equipment was put in sometime in just the last couple of years. Also, it was moved from a small room in the back to a larger room up front. And more equipment was added, both cardio and weights. There is an on-site manager, who is friendly and responsive to my maintenance requests. There is also a laundry room on-site. I never have any problems with the machines, which run with key card (which can be refilled on-site as well). There are three parking garages in the building, which you have to pay extra for, as is normal for the City. It's nice to have this option because street parking is difficult in this area. The common areas of the building are regularly cleaned (I see the cleaning people there during the week). It's a good building, not fancy (built in the 60's) but it serves my purposes. There are some fancier buildings nearby but they are much much more expensive. This building is pet friendly and I love seeing all the dogs in the building. That's the best part!
