Resident 2006 - 2007

2/13/2008

an opinion after 1 year of residence at Casa Verde....

I recently moved out of Casa Verde Apartments about a month ago. I had read many of the reviews for the apartment complex and so decided to write my own. I was at Casa Verde for 1 year. That one year was filled with both pros and cons... The pros: The management responded to the issues that I had had with my apartment. Any repairs that needed to be done and any trouble that I had had with the facility. I had found them to be very polite and helpful most of the time. In addition, when I first moved into the facility, they were very nice to assist me with my move-in date...in other words, they were very flexible and considerate on the situation that I had at the time of move in. The cons: Two months after moving in, that was when I found it difficult to reside in the facility. I guess you can say that it just wasn't for me. Though the staff at the complex were helpful, my apartment and my neighbors did not feel accommodating. The area is very loud, you can hear neighbors gathering and socializing outside most of the time. Parking was a big problem as well. All renters have one designated parking spot. However, because most of the non-designated parking spaces were ALWAYS filled up, my parking space would be taken by some random car all the time. I'm glad that just before I left, the management started to enforce a policy that involved parking permits to be issued to residents for 1 non-designated parking spot. I'm hoping they are continuing the process. Anyhow, as for my apartment itself, I had a problem with rodents and roaches. The roaches became really really bad, though I did inform the facility about it. I guess they were really busy and probably had forgotten about my request. As for my deposit...let me just say that I got less than half back. My apartment was well kept and looked like new...I really only was at my place a few days a week. No place is perfect...and some places work well with some people and some don't. Through experience living at Casa Verde, I see that it is better to actually get a feel for the place before you move into it. I myself jumped into the opportunity to move into the complex because I felt desperate at the time to move out of my old place. But, hey...at least I'm better aware of what my personality calls for in a living environment.
