I lived in a 2bd/2ba apartment at Willowbend for one year. I was always happy with the way the apartment looked, the extra appliances, and the gardening. If money is no object, you should like this apartment.

We moved in at $1785/month. At the end of our lease, they raised the rent to $2450/month. They told us we were good tenants, we never requested any fixes or made any complaints. We always paid our rent early. We never had parties. Still, they raised our rent by nearly $700/mo.

My guess is that they wanted to take advantage of skyrocketing rents in Silicon Valley.

We gave notice after this increase, and within 3 days of looking on the bayarearentals.com site, we found a great house to rent for $500/mo less than Willowbend. I recommend you shop around.

On the last day I checked my mail at Willowbend, I found a notice that they had given all tenants. They said, "Due to the energy crisis, we must pass-on the increased price of gas to our tenants. Everyone must include $50/month extra with your rent, regardless of your lease." The increase was higher for people with larger apartments. Boy, I´m glad I moved out!

Two other items you might want to know: the complex is very near the railroad tracks. Our apartment had a small earthquake every time Caltrain came by (every 10 minutes during commute). Also, we had a very loud neighbor downstairs who liked to watch movies and listen to music. His speakers boomed in our apartment so loudly every night that I could rarely sleep. There is no noise insulation in these apartments -- if you get a noisy neighbor, you´re just out of luck.Share This Review
