Splendid Living Experience!

I moved into Cavalier Apartments at the conclusion of February, 2008. I was a recent graduate from an out-of-state college and had moved in with my parents as a means of getting back onto my feet and establishing myself in a new city with all of the odds and ends that seem to accompany such endeavors. Throughout my college career, I lived in the residence hall, so I can honestly say this is my very first apartment living experience. When looking for apartments, I hardly even considered Cavalier... in fact, I skipped right over it because there were no online images. Additional to that, many of the reviews were rather poor and I was just very nervous about investigating it further. But heck, I am so glad I did! I initially signed on for a nine month least and will be renewing for an additional twelve months prior to the close of October. Allow me a moment to explain this fantastic first-time living experience. I currently reside in the west building (the one closest to 28th Frontage Street). Parking, by all means, is a premimum. I have yet to return to the apartment complex, early and/or late, not to find a parking spot. The parking lots are very large and accommodate ample parking spaces. Each lot is lit and close enough to either building that I feel very safe and secure walking to and from my car. Additional to parking, there are numerous bike racks in each parking lot. I have yet to have any difficulty finding a space for either of my tools for travel. However, this does not mean that all is well. My car has been slightly abused by other drivers. I will see the occassional buff mark and/or scratch... but really nothing more than what you might experience in a grocery store parking lot, so the situation has not at all developing into a frustrating issue. Noise was the category I scored lowest; however, it is by no means the fault of the apartment management. I have very kind neighbors, right around my age, and have only ever had two or three issues involving noise. However, once reported, the situation was taken care of accordingly and in a very timely manner. Due to the layout of the facilities, each apartment's windows face the walkway... so it is only natural that you are going to over hear a conversation when someone passes by or has a cigarette. Other than some very loud music... I barely hear anything from either apartment flanking me left or right. Because my apartment faces the street, local traffic (both mechanical and pedestrian) can be a bit of a drag... but nothing too out of the ordinary for city living. So overall, noise hasn't really been too much of an issue. Although they are nothing spectacular, the grounds are well kept and very clean. Dog poo is only a marginal issue and is typically tended to by responsible pet owners. Because this is one of the only apartment complexes in Boulder that offers to house pets for a zero monthly pet rent, it appears most pet owners are pretty responsible about picking up after their dogs. The apartments come in several different layouts (dependent upon the number of bedrooms/bathrooms). I have the smaller one bedroom/bathroom. The floor plan is open and functional. There are two windwos in the apartment, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. And although I would love to have more, both of these provide ample lighting! The apartment looks fantastic upon move in. Nice clean carpets, freshly painted walls and very clean! The only aspect of the apartment that I might improve upon is upgrading the windows. I have only ever had two issues with the apartment itself and both of them were handled the same day I called within a two hour time period. Both the kitchen and bathroom sinks dripped. When I called, the management took down my concerns asked if they had permission to enter and when I came home at the end of the day, the situation was taken care of. Do you wanna know the best part, they didn't just fix my bathroom faucet, they replaced the entire thing with a brand new one! So, I hope this can attest to the fact that the service team over at Cavalier is top-knotch! Their turn around for repairs is second-to-none and each service technician I have met has been so very nice and helpful. The office staff have always been very kind and receptive to anything that I have ever brought to their attention. They are attentive, willing to listen and actually want to help develop a solution. They are simply outstanding! My utilities are very inexpensive as is my rent. Now honestly, where are you going to find another apartment in the city of Boulder that offers rent at $650.00 per month. My rent will be increasing upon renewal, but only by $30.00. After researching throughout the community, I have discovered Cavalier is, by far, still the most inexpensive around. I was seriously considering moving due to a new job... however, this wonderful living experience has changed my mind. I would and will continue recommending Cavalier Apartments to any and all interested in experiencing the greatest of apartment living.
