Resident 2012

7/1/2012

I honestly can not say enough bad things about this place. I have lived here for about 6 months and am now looking for a new place. Here's why: When I came to apply for the apartment I specifically asked if it was safe and if there were any break-ins. The management flat out told me there were never any break-ins and the place is really safe. Within 2 weeks of moving in my apartment was broken into. Within 2 months after that, 3 other apartments on my floor were broken into. The cops actually told me they have to come out here at least twice a week for calls. When my apartment was broken into the manager and the maintenance man said they were going to replace my door. It's been 5 months and still no door. My door is still screwed up from someone using a crowbar to break in. Aside from that, when I moved in the maintenance guy was supposed to fix the ceiling fan in the living room and the cold water line in the bathroom sink. Still, both have not been fixed. I have called many many times for those repairs and the door. The management just tells me they will talk to the maintenance man and that's the last I hear from them. Currently the garbage disposal is leaking, the fan in the bathroom doesn't work, the ceiling fan in the living room is still messed up, the AC is crap, the cold water doesn't work in the bathroom sink, and the staff here will not do a single thing to fix any of it. They blame the maintenance man. "We talk to him and we can't control him, he does what he wants." That's what the management staff told me. The noise level is annoying, had to call the cops on the people above me. They stomp around the house so hard I'm surprised they haven't fallen through. They also play their mexican music at such loud levels at all hour of the night that you can hear it a block away. The window to the doors that lead into the building were busted out. Glass was everywhere as well as a trail of blood leading through the parking lot. Each building has only 2 washers and 2 dryers, but 9 times out of 10 they don't work. They tell you rent is $475 but if you don't pay it on the day it's due they immediately threaten you with attorneys and charge $50 plus $5 per day that you are late. Even if you make a payment arrangement they still tack on the $5 per day. Plus they include a community water bill of $80 on your rent. So even if you pay on time you are still paying at least $550 a month. There are constantly beer bottles and trash left throughout the buildings and the grounds, as well as broken glass and whatever else people leave lying around. This is truly an unsafe place to live for anyone. I highly recommend you looking elsewhere. The management team will say whatever they have to say to get you to rent here. You will regret it.
