My husband was stationed at Fort Carson in 1993. We only had a few days to find a place to live. El Vecino hell was our first stop! Wow, the maintenance people would just walk in with no warning. We had a screen taken off of our bedroom window due to someone trying to break in. They actually tried to charge us to replace the screen. Back then the only thing that kept us sane was our military friends who also endured living there. They made up "fake" work orders on our apartment and charged us a huge amount on damges that didn't exist. We tried to fight the charges, BUT they won.
It is VERY sad to see the photos and hear all of the stories. I am not surprised that things are even worse now. I can't even imagine going back to see this dump! Sorry to everyone they have suckered in over the years. I think Mr. Ragan should be required to live in this environment for a few months. That would be the best punishment for him. WARNING~ EL VECINO= DANGER!
