This place is completely horrible. DO NOT MOVE HERE if you can possibly help it.
Right off the bat, we were given a unit that was different than the one we were promised and had less counter space in the already tiny kitchen. We also had no doors on the pantry closet. We were given "temporary" doors but still haven't gotten the "permanent" doors that we should have. Even though we were off to a rough start, we decided to stay because of the 1960's charm of the building and the location (very near cheeseman park). However, what little charm there is has not counteracted the MYRIAD of maintenance problems we've had.
There is a new maintenance issue every other day. Since we have lived here (only a period of 8 months) we've had problems with the following: a mysterious leak in the bathroom ceiling that took multiple visits from maintenance to correct; an AC unit that doesn't work at all; a window that is not properly sealed (and still has not been fixed); a kitchen sink that gushes water onto the floor; a broken refrigerator door; closet doors that are improperly aligned; and a broken electrical outlet. And these were only the MAJOR issues. There were other, minor issues throughout our stay here. This place is seriously falling apart and it seems like they use one temporary fix after another.
One bright spot is that the maintenance guys are always friendly and courteous. Their presence is just required here WAY TOO OFTEN.
There is also a terrible dead-fish odor right outside the front door. Must pay extra for parking. There is always something broken in the laundry room.
Again, I would not recommend this place to anyone. ever. It's also way too expensive for what you get. We are moving out as soon as our lease is up. Most people we know here are also moving because they are raising the rent even higher. We not-so-affectionately refer to this place as a "rat-hole."
