Resident 2006 - 2008

2/5/2008

If you value your health and sanity-just DON"T!!!!

Where do I start? The neighbors are noisy and obnoxious. Ours above have stomped so loudly and hard they have put cracks in our ceiling and walls. The sheriff has been called more than once. I say the sheriff because the after hours security we used to have as Highline Oaks is apparently gone, although there is still a dead option on the after hours message. We had an issue with a broken hot water pipe above us which necessitated a move to another apartment since ours was soaked and reeking of mold. At first the office tried to give us a smaller apartment at the same rental rate. Then we got the model apartment that wasn't "finished" for another three weeks. We spent a full month in a moldy apartment. It took another 6 weeks for us to get our new lease when we got into our new apartment. For those raving about the new clubhouse, which isn't anywhere near done, don't expect to be able to use it for anything exclusive. We were told it was company policy that everyone be able to use the clubhouse at any time. And I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen anyone other than office staff in there at any time. Last summer exclusive use was allowed. Be careful of the section 8 complex next door as well. The pool was closed for several weeks at the end of last summer because people from the complex next door somehow got in and broke glass all over the bottom of the pool, and did other things I won't even mention. They were caught, fortunately, but it took weeks to get it back to normal. There is no such thing as snowplowing, and maintenance seems to pick and choose which buildings they will shovel for. Several doorways were shoveled late last week, but ours was left with quite a bit of snow on the walkway and the stairs. Same thing this morning. Last night was the last straw. The tenant below us (wisely) moved out Sunday. Maintenance was in there yesterday primering the walls. Without bothering to ventilate at all. All those fumes made their way into our apartment, making us sick and dizzy for over an hour, even though we had cracked the windows on a really cold night. When we called to find out what the deal was, we got lectured about freezing pipes downstairs. Finally my husband had to say, "So let me understand you. You are putting the concerns about freezing pipes in a vacant apartment above the health concerns about toxic fumes harming living tenants." Maintenance is a joke on just about everything. The office staff is not knowledgeable, and what they don't know, they make up. They are horribly disorganized, and sloooooowwww. I will give them this: they are very polite. Don't let that fool you. They've lost good tenants in us, and I hope fervently that anyone reading this will think twice before renting from these people.
