Resident 2004 - 2014

2/8/2014

I have been here for a while- still living here. Good: Nice area, close to grocery store, mall and banks. Few chain restaurants are here. Close to university, as I went to school there. Staff has been nice. At times I have been frustrated by them for various reasons (failing to inform me that I had a perishable package til I asked about it 3 days after the fact) but generally speaking, I haven't had too much of a problem with them. Deb is a lovely woman.... Talks too much some times but she generally truly cares for the residents living there and getting to know them. The other staff are rolling in and out, hopefully the current staff stays because they seem to be more competent than the staff over the years. Maintenance usually fixed problems within 24 hours. The parking situation has also gotten better. They used to let anyone park here so much so that residents couldn't park here if they got home to late. Then they issued out passes and started towing those without passes, which cut down a lot of the car traffic. Now things are fine. Always a parking space. Bad: Cars have been broken into here... However I believe the guy has been caught. The last massive break in was 2012. Four cars were hit that night, including my boyfriend's. Sometimes you can hear in other apartments, depending how loud your neighbors are. The kids here break things, such as the side door to prop it open. Laundry room is horrible- washers and dryers are constantly broken and sometimes you don't know until the money has been deducted from your card. Laundry is left by others while there are lines waiting to use. If you want to do laundry, do during day, Monday to Wednesday evening or in the middle of the night. Low traffic then. There has been a problem with trash but that has been getting better. The trash in the dumpsters is pick up the trash Monday morning at like 6 AM. Really loud but that isn't the complex's fault. I had a mouse problem at some point but I also had a cat. That problem was fixed. Haven't seen a mouse. There is an ant problem in the summer though. The rent has gone up every year but that is explained when you first sign your lease. They give you a huge discount to get you in, then yearly it goes up by $25 dollars until you hit the capacity rent. There has been suspect people living here over the years, but that has gotten better now that the rent is out of their range. Over all, my experience hasn't been too bad but I am also an easy to please person. I would recommend to college students and first time renters. More professional people should look for better. People with kids should also look elsewhere. No where for kids to play on the complex and they cause damage to the property and other cars.
