Resident 2002

12/19/2002

I lived here for a year, and what I have found is a place that puts all of the money into the outward appearance of the complex. They advertise "Century Hills Luxury Apartments". Just the outside and the lobby areas going into the apartment towers. The inside of the apartments are nice, but not "luxury". My apartment has closet doors which are obviously from when the place was a hotel in the mid 1970´s. Since I´ve moved in, the contact paper covering the doors has since started rippling underneath the paint. Luxury? Not! Granted, I really wasn´t looking for a luxury apartment, but this isn´t even 2000 standards. The ac/heating system is also about 30 years old. It sounds like a lawn mower is on the other side of the wall. Because it is antiquated, it also causes my electric bills to be ridiculously high. The windows are poorly insulated from sound and weather. The door to my apartment only has one lock on it. Definitely not secure. They have an intercom system at the front which, when a guest pushes a button, rings your apartment. Initially, it appears to be a system. But, I have seen people numerous times just standing outside he door and wait for someone else to come and open the door. NOT SECURE. I was recently informed of my lease running out at the end of January, and if I renewed, there would be a 50.00 per month increase. I sent the office a memo, stating the above problems. And, if they fixed them, I´ll renew. This was a month ago. Still no response. Should you live here? NO, NO,And NO!
