I have lived in luxury apartment buildings in major cities(DC,MD, FL,IL, NY) my entire adult life (40 years) so my ability to evaluate Century Hills is based on comparison with those experiences. For the money, the apartment size and convenient location is an advantage. It is located off of several major highways and shopping is extremely close. But , despite these advantages, there are some problems. The heating and air conditioning systems are outdated, as are the drafty windows and doors. These problems drive up electric bills. The elevators are frequently broken, and repairs take days- a huge problem for the residents who live on the upper floors. The outside contractors (painters, cabinet makers, exterminators, elevator repairmen) are usually the ones who presented the lowest bid to the owner/management company, so the work done on the property is usually of the lowest quality- I often find it unacceptable and pay for things privately so they are done correctly. (My neighbors kitchen cabinets are a good example-they are falling apart). I also heard rumors from other tenants that we are not up to current fire codes. And, as of this week, we have no property manager. These problems are the result of a lack of management and care at the very top- the ownership. Unfortunately, it looks like things won't be changing for the better anytime soon. It's a shame, too, because with the right owners- this place could be fantastic. Now, without the oversight provided by the property manager, it's slip into complete disrepair will be imminent. My opinion? Rent somewhere else until the property is sold.
