Resident 2004 - 2005

Century Hills LUXURY?!! Okay, I have to admit, it does appear to have some luxury qualities at first glance - but BEWARE...take a closer look or ask some tennants their opinion.

The luxuries: indoor pool - closed nearly 3 months last winter because they couldn't schedule for tile repair. exercise room - equipment constantly fails and remains that way for weeks. tennis courts - overgrown with weeds and fallen trees, broken nets and remained in this sorry state for the entire summer.

The solution here seems to be to paint over everything and anything. I have to laugh because sometimes I see complete sheets of paint that have fallen off the walls because they have painted so many times. The complexes are old and need alot of repair and cleaning but the only things that management pays attention to are the exterior trimming details. Instead of repairing the elevators that are constantly broken - they paint them.

The power constantly goes out and when it does be prepared - the back up lights in the halls never work and you'll get caught in pitch black stairwells and halls. At night be careful because the stairs outside are very dangerous - concrete is broken and no lights. The guard rails are broken and have been for the last 9 months.

Call CT Light and Power and get an actual estimate for heat. The girls in the office say never more than $50 to $60 in the winter. Well, our bill for the first 9 days in our 2 bedroom apt was $120 - the house we had just lived in never exceeded $100 for an entire month and it was at least 4 times larger! We were sure that it had to be a mistake but the next billing cycle and that thereafter in the winter months averaged $200-250 at least! We are suspicious that we actually pay to heat more than just our apartment. We traveled for 3 weeks and still our bill was about the same!

Maintenace staff - a small step above the main office. However be prepared that they will arrive with no notice and enter your apartment without leaving any form indicating who has been there and what if anything they have accomplished except get mud and oil on the carpet.

Garbage and old furniture litter the halls and entryway at the end of each month. This is disgusting and a nuisance besides an eyesore.

The office staff is terribly rude! Just hope that you never need their assistance. They are cold and snotty and treat the tennants like criminals. We have had packages stolen on numerous occasions. After bringing this issue to management they just shrugged and admitted that it does happen - NO solution to prevent this from happening in the future and NO apology as to their responsibility for your mail. Now we do not have anything mailed to us at our apartment address. Who knows, it could be the management stealing the packages - they have the most accesibility.

Be warned that this place is falling apart due to poor management and it isn't getting any better.
