The community is great, and the staff is very friendly and professional. The apartment itself is very nice, and worth the money we are paying considering the community that we are in is in demand. I am very happy with our… Full Review ▶

Pleasant residents, high ceilings, and large windows. Plenty of machines in laundry room. Walls are somewhat thin. Good basic, bare bones studios. Large, walk-through closets that lead to the bathroom. All fixture are utilitarian instead of stylish. Full Review ▶

Other than the old plumping, not frequent roach visits, noisy people in halls, lack of gym and short hours of laundry room, the living is acceptable. The building has changed for the better with new improvements, but it has not been to… Full Review ▶

Hilltop house was a good value. The surrounding neighbors (dorm across the street) could be a little loud late at night for working professionals to get a decent night's rest. The office and maintenance staff are all very pleasant and easy… Full Review ▶

It is the best value I've found in the area in terms of comparable rent and general unit quality. staff is responsive and helpful. i think quality of repairs is more of an issue of available funds for completing repairs than… Full Review ▶

I moved in during the spring of 2014 after 2 months of apartment hunting. This place fit the bill overall with reasonably priced rent (utilities included), excellent location, and proximity to my workplace. It could benefit from some updating/renovation but is… Full Review ▶

I've been very pleased and lucky with my current apartment. The neighborhood is fantastic and the value (for the location, size, and condition of the building) cannot be beat. It's affordable, clean, extremely convenient. I love living here! Full Review ▶

So far it's only been two weeks at Hilltop House but I already call it home. This is my first time living in DC so I wanted to be somewhere convenient for work, but close to the fun and still safe.… Full Review ▶

Completely easy and smooth. The Office and staff are kind and responsive. The Neighborhood is great. There is not a lot of community feeling with neighbors, but that is fine. Common areas are nice. Nice, clean, easy apartment to live in,… Full Review ▶

07/2010-04/2012. I would DEFINITELY recommend Hilltop House. Lovely unit (and the studio across the hall from me was even nicer) and the staff is always there and very helpful. In every city you might have a hard time one night finding… Full Review ▶

paid $900 dollars a month here for a tiny studio, went up to $950 after I had been there for a year so i promptly left - it was honestly the tinest studio i have ever seen. its a good location… Full Review ▶

Hilltop's location is good, building is in really poor shape though. Lobby looks nice, but the building is old, showing it's age and needs work. Definitely smelly hallways as someone else posted. Old apartments need constant maintenance and attention. Parking is… Full Review ▶

Not sure about the other posts but I've been happy here. Moved in six months ago and haven't see a roach, have had no AC problems or problems with the laundry machines. The property manager is still quite nice to me… Full Review ▶

To all perspective tenants: all of the negative comments about the Hilltop posted here are true. Roaches, inconsistent water, smells, a/c problems, very expensive laundry room that will ruin your clothes. The landlady will be nice to you to initially woo… Full Review ▶

We first moved into the Hilltop house because the rent was reasonable, it was across the street from a nice park and I could still walk to work, but we quickly realized this wasn't the best idea. We have now lived… Full Review ▶

I'm fairly taken aback by the reviews. I agree that it's nothing exceptional, but the units are clean and relatively well maintained. The lobby and front entrance have been completely remodeled, the rent is not high and the location is good.… Full Review ▶

I've lived here since 2005 and I must say the landlord is a sweet lady. But shes more of a resident who pulls in tenants than a manager who is problem solving. Her own neighbor blasts music until the wee hours… Full Review ▶

I'll add another review once I've lived here awhile, but I will say that so far, I am very happy at Hilltop House. I wish I had moved here before they jacked up the rent to $900/mo, but that's still a… Full Review ▶

Even though the Adams Morgan/Columbia Heights area is really advancing in terms of neighborhood quality, the Hilltop House remains stagnatn. Every year, they raise the rent a little more yet don't add anything to the quality of life. It gets hot… Full Review ▶
