Resident 2013 - 2015

6/7/2015

Do not be deceived by this high review on apartment ratings, most of them are from the staff at Greystar I'm sure. This is by far the worst place any decent human being can live in. STAY AWAY at all costs, avoid like the plague, please do not give Savannah Lakes a single penny because if you do, they will go after everything they can get out of you. GREEDY organization. For starters - they advertise luxury apartments yet the apartments are small, old, and outdated appliances. We got there and the washer/dryer they gave us was over 20 years old, rusted, disgusting and they refused to replace it so we had to just buy our own and put theirs in the walk in closet, which ruined our walk in closet space. Neighbors - they accept just about anyone and cops are called there everyday. Savannah Lakes is the capital of domestic violence cases so get used to screams, glass breaking, doors slamming, and more drama. That's tolerable okay, but what isn't tolerable is finding syringes all over the place. Heroine addicts everywhere. We had someone die in the apartment above us and the office refused to disclose why despite us having kids around. If you have kids, DO NOT bring them to Savannah Lakes if you care about them. It's a community full of drug addicts and there is no security at all (no gates). Parking - you have assigned parking but when these wonderful neighbors have parties for football games, etc., you will find your spot is taken and maintenance will do nothing about it. At least once every two weeks I had my spot taken. Maintenance - these guys in the golf carts always have their eyes on you. They are the spies of the front office. If you leave your garbage outside for more than 5 minutes, if you drive more than 1 MPH over the speed limit, if you use the amenities past sunset, they will be onto you. Why? Because that means more of a reason for SL to get money from you. When you do need them for emergencies like a broken AC (which happens A LOT), they won't be there until the next working day. Many times we had to sweat in a hot July over the weekend. Slow response, abuse of power, and quick fixes that don't help. Bugs - it's Florida, any place you go to will have bugs. Palmetto bugs and those long skinny bugs are the most common here at SL. The problem is, maintenance doesn't care and will not help out. Again, the bugs aren't the issue if you are a Floridian, it's the staff that cares more about the bugs than you. Animals - no one cleans up after their dog. the dog park is dirty, and the office does nothing. Front Desk Staff - now this is the absolute WORST part of SL. There is not a single polite, friendly, or anything remotely approachable in the office. If you have a problem, call them up, they will just say "ok" and when they hang up, make fun of you with their coworkers. They are so rude, the rudest people I have ever seen in any complex in the entire state of Florida. I can't emphasize how rude the front desk people are. They might be polite when they golf cart you around for a tour but once you are a resident, you are completely forgotten until it's time to leave. Leaving SL - if you decide to live at least the next year in misery at SL, when you leave they will hit you up for every little thing. It is impossible to leave SL without paying them money, no matter how much of a deposit you have on file. The most common thing will be their crappy carpet. You can hire professional cleaners all you want, but they will go after you for not having a clean apartment. Leaving SL is not going to be an easy task. Stay away from Savannah Lakes or any Greystar property for that matter. If you need to live in that area, across the street at Congress is the Renaissance plaza, I have a friend that stays there and for the same price you can get much better deals, rates, and service. Savannah Lakes is overpriced for what they offer in that area and is turning more and more into a dangerous neighborhood. Be smart, stay away from SL!
