Rotting, mold, leaks and sickness
Our unit was filled with leaking walls and leaking floors and windows after a hurricane. Then came the mold, mold, mold. It grew up the walls and stained the carpets black. When we alerted the office they simply said, "This is Florida and there is mold everywhere."

They then slapped paint over top of the moldy walls, used a weak shampoo on the carpets and called it a repair.

Of course this didn't stop the new water from coming in after every major storm.

When my wife developed respiratory infections and was finally hospitalized a doctor came forward and told us her lungs were coated with mold spores. She was hospitalized and put on oxygen.

As we talked to our neighbors at Mirasol, we were appalled to find many others with similar stories and medical problems. Many had a feeling it was also their apartments causing them to be sick. We took our concerns to the management and they told us they were selling the building to Lexin Properties, the company that owns Celebration, and that it would be their problem.

We attempted to speak to a person from Gaw Realty but they didn't want to hear anything bad about Mirasol since they were going to sell it as condos. Residents were told they would be sued if they told anyone there was mold in the apartments or mentioned anything about sickness. The last thing Lexin wanted the public to know was that it was "sick" buildings. No one would ever buy if they knew what health problems living at Mirasol causes.Share This Review
