I do not recommend Iona Lakes Apartments in Fort Myers unless your one and only consideration is safety - even then, safety is only average when compared to other apartment complexes.
Apartments: The apartments are cheaply constructed. You will hear the daily sounds of your neighbor.
Staff: Staff is ultra-friendly right up until you sign the lease. Then they avoid you, especially if there is something wrong in your "unit". (The reason I said "unit" is because as soon as you move in the whole "family" and "community" appeal goes away. There is 'staff' - and there are 'residents'. That's it.
Parking: I'm still shaking my head at the one time I had a friend stop by my place with a boat and trailer behind their truck. The following Monday I got a notice for a parking violation. My friend was there for 2 hours max. I was expected to pay for a month's 'trailer' parking because of that 2 hour 'indiscretion'.
All in all, unless you are desperate this is not a place you will ever feel at home and your residency will be as short as most that have lived at Iona Lakes.
