I have lived in these apartments for three years, but I will not sign an extension of my lease. The apartments are under new (and unfriendly) management. I am reminded of the apartments I lived in in college where it was the job of the management to harass the tenants. Tenants now regularly receive letters on their doors explaining rules or new policies. The limitations are growing and it is no longer a pleasant place to live. They will not let you extend your lease unless you sign a new lease, so you pay a large fee to continue to live in your apartment after your lease is up. These are all policies that were in place prior to the arrival of the new management, however these policies were not previously enforced. Certain parts of the lease that were not previously enforced are now being brought to the attention of the tenants. ie- you canĀ“t have a grill, fines for not having your pet on a leash, you canĀ“t work on boats or cars, etc. This complex was previously run by common sense and is now run to the letter of the lease. Before you choose to live here, carefully read your lease. One last thing- management reserves the right to enter or allow maintenance to enter at any time. We have been throught several maintenace men in the last few months, yet we are expected to allow them enetrance to our home when we cannot be there. Look to one of the other complexes on hodges. ThatĀ“s what I will do.
