Resident ā€¢ 2004 - 2006

This place is a nightmare. The people posting comments on this site are not crazy or whiners they speak the truth.

Bugs, Bugs Everywhere! I'm not talking about a bug every once in a while...I'm talking about bugs (roaches) on an almost daily basis. They are in the kitchen, in the bathroom, in the laundry area, in the living room, hanging out on the wall in the bedroom...EVERYWHERE! I keep a clean house and do not leave food out but I cannot get rid of them.

Dirty apartment upon move in. So very true. Mine was nasty. The bathroom tile still had mold on it, floor was dirty, exhaust fan was covered in dirt. The kitchen was gross. Found a 20 oz EMPTY bottle of Sierra Mist in the kitchen cabinet. The kitchen light was covered in grease. The floor was dirty. The carpet looks like it should have been replace a year or two ago. It had been cleaned but the stains came back. The carpet did not lie flat in several places...it was all bunched up. The carpet around the fireplace did not have any stripping (or whatever you call it) around the tile so it was all frayed with the tacks exposed. They never bothered to fix this.

The A/C is the original unit and cannot even keep a walk in closet cooled at a resonable temperature let alone the whole apartment. During the summer if it gets to 78 degrees during the day you are lucky. When I moved in, it was not cooling at all. During the day it was 85 degrees and at night it would maybe get down to 78/80. The thing ran non stop. It took over a month and many, many trips to the office to get it somewhat fixed. It now gets around 76ish during the day but it will run non stop all day long and most of the evening. My electric bill runs from $160 to $200. (I live in a 1 bedroom) This is how much I was paying for a 2 bedroom apt. I am on the 3rd floor and they give you that same old tired excuse about being on the 3rd floor, vaulted ceilings, blah blah blah. Sorry. I have lived on the top floor in a number of apartments and never had a problem keeping it at a resonable temperature. Sure it would get a little warm during the day but not like this place.

When I moved in my water heater worked fine but, over the last couple of weeks I've been having nothing but problems with it. It went out (had nothing but cold water). They came out and "fixed" it. Well, now I have warm, no hot, warm water. I have less than 5 minutes to take a somewhat warm shower before I end up taking a cold shower. They have been out several times and still can't fix the thing correctly. Ummm, hello? It looks like that thing has been there since the apartment was build. How about replacing it? Things don't last forever.

The maintence men (at least the ones I have dealt with) do try, but, like most apartment communities, as long as it turns on or its blowing air, etc., its working. It hurts my head to try and grasp the logic of having a multi million dollar investment and just let it waste away. Would you let your house or your car just fall apart? I think not.

I have never used or been to the pool, the gym, the tennis courts or the racquetball court so I have no opinion on those. If they keep it up like they do the apartments, they are all probably in pretty bad shape.

The building I am in is fairly quiet but the building next to me can get a little loud at times. People have no common sense around here. Instead of getting out of their cars when picking someone up, they sit there and blow their horn until they come out. It doesn't matter if its 3:00 pm or 3:00 am, they have no problem doing this.

The landscaping is nothing special. Kinda sucks actually but I'm not too woried about that. They seem to have the trash pick up scheduled right. I rarely see the compactor overflowing except for Sunday. But, by Monday, they have it emptied again and everything pick up.

We have a new manager here. I have not dealt with him but the maintenance people speak highly of him. (unlike that crazy woman we had before - Lisa) She did nothing but complain and scream at everyone. Nothing ever got done. She is not fit to manage anything. Hopefully he will clean things up a little but I'm not holding my breath. He has a very long way to go to get this place back up to standards.

I doubt I will renew my lease again. I'm tired of dealing with bugs, things only getting fixed half way because they don't want to spend the money. That, and I do not think I can go through another 78/80 degree summer again. This is Florida. A/C is NOT an option or luxury. When its 95 degrees outside, humidity at 80%, the sun blasting, you will get a heat index of 110 degrees. This isn't that dry heat. I'm talking about that sticky, tropical heat that makes your clothes stick to you.

Anyway, read through the other reviews and decide for yourself. There is what, 2 or 3 good reviews on here? Maybe those people lucked out and got an apartment that wasn't falling apart or maybe it was the office staff writing the good reviews...who knows. Anyway, the majority cannot be wrong. The same problems are listed over and over again. That should tell you something about this place. I pay my rent on time and keep to myself like most people here so its not all the people who were evicted, etc. writing the nasty reviews.
