This apartment complex has awful customer service and maintenance service.

To whom it concerns:

I would like to start off saying, my refrigerator problem has been fixed. Vanessa sent maintenance out Thursday 30, 2001. The maintenance manager said that I needed a new refrigerator. Vanessa was kind enough to walk down here in person to let me know the situation and how she was taking care of it. I find her performance professional and exceptional because she has put forth effort to make my problems her problems.

Below are some instances I have run into with Windrift Apartments, Orlando, FL (32825). My issue with them this time is my refrigerator. I called the office line Monday after they had closed to leave a message that everything in my freezer was defrosting. I consider this an emergency, apparently the office did not. I had to call the office Tuesday to see the status on my problem, Linda said that the order was still pending. I believe that something should have been done about it that morning. Linda said I will have to wait till Wednesday. I have no other choice. Wednesday comes around and she said they will not be able to get to it until late afternoon. This is very upsetting to me because I work full-time and go to school. This is a lot of pressure. It does not end here though because I have to deal with the team that works at Windrift. I am really fed up with the way they handle situations and am very concerned why nothing has been done about my problems. I believe that I should be compensated in some way for my troubles. I spent $60.00 on groceries that are now spoiled. To make matters worse I am supposed to wait until early next week for a replacement item. I do not see why they can not take this item from a vacant apartment. I am really dissatisfied with the service and would like assistance with my problems. I would just like to know what I am supposed to eat and drink over the weekend. Warm water, milk, and spoiled food is not healthy.

To whom it may concern:

I have run into numerous difficulties with the management at Windrift Apartments. I have been a resident of Windrift for over four years. I have never dealt with difficulties that were major until I encountered your services. We have had three different managers since AIMCO bought out Oxford. My first issue dealt with my carpet. I had the carpet for over for years and it was becoming grungy and unmanageable. I explained my situation to the office and they said they would have Ellen come and look at my carpet. The day Ellen was to look at my carpet no one showed up and no one at the office knew anything about it. Ellen never called me to let me know she was not coming. When I became upset the office said they would deal with it and two days later Ellen called me to reschedule. When she came to look at my carpet she agreed it needed to be replaced and told me she would get back with a time. My date to receive my carpet was August 1, 2001 because that is when my lease started. However, I am not sure why I could not have received it when I signed my lease. After this situation I ran into many problems have occurred that have upset me and disgusted with the AIMCO procedures from Windrift.

Problem 1: I was told my carpet was to arrive in the afternoon on August 1, 2001. On August 1, 2001 I called the office at 9am to see if they could let me know what time exactly I would be getting my carpet. I spoke with Vanessa and she said that they were going to arriving shortly to do the carpet. I was surprised because I was told they would arrive in the afternoon. My apartment was cleared out and I told Vanessa all I had to move was my sofa, entertainment center, and bed frame and mattress. I also had items to move from my entertainment center that would take five minutes. When Vanessa called me back at 9:30 am she said that they were going to go to a different apartment and be at mine around 11:30 or 12:00. At 12:00pm I called the office again and I spoke with Ellen and she said that the carpet guys had my keys and when they finished with the other apartment they would be at mine. I waited and waited, finally after waiting five hours I called the office and I spoke with Linda. I told her that I had been waiting for carpet for five hours and asked her if she could tell me what time they would be arriving. I was not able to get to my kitchen or bathroom for that entire time because the night before everything was placed in these rooms. She took down my number and my name and said she would call me back after she talked to them. I waited ten minutes and then I called back. Linda answered the phone and said oh yea I have to do that, and then she took down my number again and said she would call me back. I waited five minutes and decided to walk to the office because I did not know what was taking so long. When I got to the office I heard that Linda was just making the call to the carpet place. The manager, Jan, walked out a few minutes later and asked if she could help me. I told her that I had been waiting for my carpet to arrive since 9am and no one has been to my place. She said that she could call her maintenance guys to go check it out and she would call me back. I said no I am not going through that again because I had been waiting for Linda to call me back. I told Jan that I was going to wait in the office until she figured out what was going on. I asked how long was it going to take her to find out she said she did not know. I asked her when she was going to check. She told me she was waiting for the maintenance guys to call back. This all happened on August 1, 2001. I cannot remember the conversation word for word but I can guarantee that the following was said to me. She talked down to me saying ā€œI do not know if you have ever had a problem in your life, but nothing in life is 100% guaranteed.ā€ I told her that rent is guaranteed and her reply was no because if your are in the hospital and can not payā€¦I said well it that case your slap on a fifty dollar late fee for your guarantee, where is mine in this case.

Problem 2: I called to have my linoleum tacked down on August 1, 2001. When I called Linda answered and said she would put in a work order for it. On August 5, 2001 I called the office to check on my order and Andrew put the order in because he could not find the first one. Two days later my linoleum was fixed, obviously Linda did not put in a work order. On August 8, 2001 I went to the office to ask Linda why she did not put in a work order. Not to my surprise the manager, Jan, jumped in to give me the run around. Jan told me that she was not in charge of fixing the tile and that she had called the carpet company to come and fix it. She did not know when they were coming because she said they had not called back- here it is seven days later and Jan still does not know what is going on. I then asked Jan if she knew that a maintenance guy was in my apartment and she said no. To her the problem is solved, but I am still upset. First, why did Linda say she would take my order if they were not in charge of the order? Second, Why was the maintenance guy able to fix it if Jan said they could not? Third, why does no one have any idea what is going on?

Problem 3: On August 8, 2001 I went to get a fax that I had received Friday. Linda could not find my fax anywhere. I asked her, ā€œDid you throw it away?ā€ She said I do not have the garbage so I could not tell you- a little on the smart aleck side if you ask me. I said ok do you usually throw the fax papers away. She said every few days. I said ok what are a few days to you? She said I do not know!!!

I have gone though problems at this apartment complex before. Such examples would be my dish washing machine breaks down- Oxford fixed it. My washing machine breaks down- Oxford fixed it. AIMCO has not been this understanding in anyway. I do not believe that I am alone when I say that managers should know how to manage. Not make it a priority to disrespect you.
