Resident ā€¢ 2005 - 2006

7/27/2006

My girlfriend has lived at The Pointe for the last year and it is seriously the most awful place. Two weeks ago, some dude came knocking on her door at 11:30pm on a Friday night, screaming for some chick (that didn't live there)... After about a mintue of banging on the door, the dude kicked the front door in and then proceeded to try to bust down my gf's bedroom door as well... Her poor roommate was in her room terrified, so she locked herself in her bathroom and called 911... The cops got there in a matter of minutes and the dude must of heard them coming and ran out. The front door frame was completely destroyed, but instead of actually fixing it, the maintenance people just used penny nails and nailed the broken pieces of door frame back together. Mercifully, my gf wasn't there when it happened. When she went in to talk to the manager about it that next Monday, there was another guy in there who's place had been broken into that weekend. He was pissed b/c the intruder 'stole all of my guns'.

She has had NOTHING but problems with this place. They front doors don't have keys, they have the hotel-style electronic card locks. Do you know what happens when the batteries die in those things? Yeah, you CAN'T GET IN. That happened to her as well. Imagine getting home at midnight and going to your front door with key in hand and not being able to get in. There was nothing the maintenance people could do for her either. Her roommate ended up having to break out a window and crawl through to go around and open the door from the inside.

People drive through the parking lot there like it's a Nascar track. I can't count the amount of times I have been crossing the parking lot and some idiot has come tearing around the corner doing 60 mph and almost run me over.

The apartment units themself are awful as well. The kitchens are tiny, the bedrooms are small and the walls are paper thin. There is constantly people driving through the parking lot with bass thumping so loud it shakes the walls. You can hear every bit of it as well.

I'm pretty sure they still advertise it as being "a gated community with controlled access" even though they took the front gates off six months ago. Yup, no front gates, just drive through and find an apartment to break into!

I'm not one usually one to ----- about apartments, and I've lived in my share of crappy places, but this place definately takes the cake. Ok, enough of my bashing this place. Bottom line, if you want a crappy apartment with management that doesn't care if your place is broken into or care if your place is falling apart and you don't mind living in fear of someone kicking your door in, then by all means this is the place for you.
