Resident 2010 - 2014

10/19/2014

First off: my wife and I moved here from NJ. We literally moved to a new apartment every year, for 6 years, because of the noise in some apartments. Now on to Post Alexander: My wife and I have lived here for 4 years. That should set the stage for my review. Location: You cannot beat it. Right next to Phipps plaza, many restaurants and the interstate. Neighborhood: A highrise for seniors is on one side and a highrise where Charles Barkley lives is on the other side. The only car break ins I have ever heard of are from the Camden apartments across the street. Post Alexander cars are parked in a locked gate which no one is getting in or out of with out a key. Grounds: My father in law owns a landscaping company. He visits during the holiday and always comments on how well groomed the property is. The pool, in the summer, is amazing. The gym has plenty of equipment to not have to wait on others. The lobby is grand and beautiful. Maintenance: This guy is AMAZING! Not only does he know everyones name in the building he responds to inquiries in minutes! Not days. Not hours. MINUTES. He is the man. Staff: By now you can tell my wife and I love living here. I could write a novel about how wonderful the staff is. They go the extra mile every time we need them. Noise: We hear nothing. We hear nothing from our neighbors. Maybe we got lucky? If you have read this far maybe you'll read a little further: If you are considering moving into an apartment you will likely hear your neighbors. My wife and I planned ahead for this and maybe you can too: They will usually show you the apartment you will move into. Look out at the patios of your neighbors. If you see a bunch of kid toys -- they probably have children and we would pass on that. Most residents here make a decent amount of money and they decorate their patios probably better than most of us decorate our living rooms. Those are probably the neighbors you want to live next to. If there isn't anything on the patio -- or some cheap chairs on the patio -- those are probably college kids roomating together and you definitely don't want to live next to them. Lastly, look for apartments on the top floor to mitigate any concerns you may have. I'll end with this: ProMove is a company here in Atlanta that helps people find apartments. When our rent was raised last year we went to ProMove and they said "There is no better apartment than Post Alexander so anything I recommend is not going to compare." There is NO better apartment in the buckhead area that Post Alexander. Period.
