Resident ā€¢ 2010 - 2015

1/1/2015

Let me preface my review with the following statement. Members of management have obviously written the past seven or eight reviews starting from October 2014 to present, in an obvious attempt to downplay the slate of prior negative reviews. I have lived at The Ashford at Stone Ridge for almost five years and as each year passes, my time here has grown progressively worse. The only reason I lived here for so long is because the rent was affordable and is in a convenient location while I attended undergrad and now grad school. This complex is getting older, and in dire need of renovation. Appliances are old, broken, and in need of repair. Management has changed six times since I have resided here. With each new incarnation, management has become more and more unprofessional, discourteous, and uneducated. I have seen the every worker in the office treat residents so rudely you would think that the residents said something nasty about their mothers. You do not talk to your potential renters or your current customers in such an unprofessional manner. Everyone in the the office is rude, disrespectful, and I highly doubt any of them graduated from high school because they all seem to lack a basic understanding of customer service, have no sense of logical reasoning, and are unable to commit to ANYTHING. I always pay my rent on time and have never been late in the entire time that I have lived here. Yet, every time I call to request a maintenance repair, the experience is like pulling teeth. They will not even give me documentation for the work orders that I request! I am moving out of these wannabe luxury apartments as soon as my lease is up! These apartments are not worth the price any longer. They are infested with roaches, have very thin walls, and are riddled with too many people violating their lease agreements by having well more than the requisite number of applicants. Moreover, they raised my rent by over 70 dollars on my last renewal! The dumpster is located outside of the gates which allows every Tom, ----, and Harry to throw their refuse in with the residents'. The garbage is constantly overflowing which makes it a hideous unsightly mess. I've been embarrassed to bring friends over at times because of the state of the property. The gates almost never work, and residents and visitors often drive through the exit gate. I have seen small UNATTENDED children playing 'chicken' on their bikes to see how fast they can bike through the exit gate before it closes. Speaking of the gates, residents and visitors alike constantly tailgate behind gate key holders and management does nothing. The first three years that I lived here breakins were commonplace, and there was one sexual assault on the premises. Residents were alerted days later with no assurance that courtesy officers would be on site. To date, I have only seen the courtesy officer 1 or 2 times in the entire time that I have lived here. There is a Clayton County police car on the premises daily. This is a bad sign to anyone with common sense that the complex is prone to too much crime. Maintenance is unhelpful and continually passes blame on residents and each other for lack of repair requests getting done. Instead of accepting responsibility and getting repairs completed, they are more content to complain that to do their damn jobs. This complex has a laundry facility and a gym with broken equipment. For several months, management was working in the laundry room/gym area while the rent office was remodeled. There is no business center and quite frankly you can find a better place to live at an affordable price if you are determined to live in the area. I am all for equal housing laws, but management must do a better job of whom they approve for apartments. In the back of the complex children congregate and are constantly treating the parking lot like a park. They play football well past 11:00pm and the young kids ages 2-4 are left to their own devices with nary an adult in sight. Where are these kids' parents? I can't wait until my lease is up! If my review has not convinced you of the unprofessional behavior, terrible customer service, and complete stupidity of this CRIMINALLY MISMANAGED APARTMENT complex, please heed my words. I have seen a sign on the door in an apartment building telling the resident that "YOU ARE BEING EVICTED FOR FAILURE TO PAY YOUR RENT. PAY OR LEAVE." Now I understand that we all have to pay our rent, but this sign is demonstrative of the petty, passive aggressive, and childish behavior of management. IN SHORT, DO NOT LIVE HERE. YOU WILL ONLY REGRET IT IN THE END!
