                  I apologize that you have had an unhappy experience at Cougar Village. Inconsistency in management is definitely frustrating and I apologize that you have had to experience that. We did recently bring in a new team at Cougar Village and we know that there can be growing pains associated with changes; however, I do know that the changes here are for the better. In regards to charges, the only extra charges we have are electricity overages which is completely dependent on your usage between you and your roommates. If you need any help with managing your electricity usage to lower your charges, we can send you helpful tips to lower your bill! We have quite a few residents who never or very rarely experience an overage because of their modest consumption. I'm sorry to hear that you do not like our notices regarding late rent as they have been asked for by residents and guarantors alike. These notices are meant to be helpful reminders and not to be insulting.                     Hello Ms. English, I apologize that you are unsatisfied at Cougar Village. To address some of the issues you stated - we have had some staff changes recently and are quite excited about it. We have recently employed an amazing team that is dedicated to ensuring Cougar Village and its residents are well cared for. In regards to fines and charges, we do charge for damage to the home. We offer residents the opportunity to correct issues (like broken blinds) on their own but if we are required to make replacements, there are charges for these repairs. Electricity overages are clearly stated in the lease agreement and completely dependent on your usage. We have quite a few residents who never or very rarely experience an overage because of their modest consumption.                                         We are very sorry to hear that your experience at Cougar Village was less than exceptional and would like to meet with you to discuss how we can make it better! In response to your particular issues, I would like to say that our spacious apartments are one of the best values in the area, with each of our apartments including furniture and utilities. The management team strives very hard to deter any criminal activity on the property. Cougar Village is a gated community, has an agreement with the Columbus Police Department to conduct a drive through of the property several times per day, has a community "Neighborhood Watch," and employs a Columbus Police Department officer as our 24-hour courtesy officer. We make ourselves readily available for any and all resident concerns and look forward to addressing them quickly, appropriately, and with empathy. We also have a full on-site maintenance staff who are available at all times to make any emergency repairs and we distribute the phone number to the 24-hour emergency maintenance to all residents for easy access. Again, we apologize, and would like to extend the offer to meet with you to further discuss your situation.

                                          Dear Mr. Hornbaker- The issue of the pest infestation is very specific to your residency and does not reflect on our attitude toward military residents in any way. We strive to offer the best possible service to all of our residents, but we especially value our military residents. This is reflected in our monthly military appreciation events and our leasing specials for military residents. We're sorry again for your dissatisfaction because of the pest infestation, but we do thank you for your service. It is true that your apartment had to be treated during your residency for a bed bug infestation, and at the time of that treatment, our pest control company determined that the cause of the infestation was the resident of your apartment and/or guests. Upon your move-out, we discovered a second, unreported infestation, which the pest control company again determined that the infestation was caused by the occupant of the unit. Both treatments were performed within company, state, & federal guidelines, and the you were notified of the charges in accordance with the Pest Addendum that was signed with your Lease Agreement.
